Masjid al-Sab‘ah (Seven Mosques) Madinah Munawara 💚

Masjid al-Sab‘ah means “The Seven Mosques.”
It’s a complex of small mosques built near the site of the Battle of the Trench (Ghazwat al-Khandaq), which took place in 5 AH (627 CE).
Although called “Seven Mosques,” today only six remain — one was demolished to make room for expansion.

📍 Location

The site is in the northern part of Madina, near Mount Sala‘ (جبل سلع).
It’s about 3 km from Masjid an-Nabawi (the Prophet’s Mosque).

🕌 The Seven Mosques (Historically)
1. Masjid al-Fath (Mosque of Victory) – the most famous; located on a hilltop where the Prophet ﷺ made du‘ā during the battle.
2. Masjid Salman al-Farsi – named after the companion who suggested digging the trench.
3. Masjid Abu Bakr as-Siddiq
4. Masjid ‘Umar ibn al-Khattab
5. Masjid ‘Ali ibn Abi Talib
6. Masjid Fatimah (or Masjid Sa‘d ibn Mu‘adh)
7. Masjid al-Qiblatayn (sometimes included in the count, though located slightly away)
