FAST University in Karachi is planning a concert⌠while Gaza plans funerals.
This isnât poor timing, itâs a complete disconnect from our responsibility as an Ummah.
Firstly, Red Bull, the concert sponsor, is boycotted by many Muslims for its links to Israel. While Gaza faces brutal genocide, is it really the right time to celebrate with music and dance?
Moreover, concerts themselves involve elements clearly discouraged in our deen free mixing, promotion of indecent behavior, music filled with explicit language (particularly from artists like Young Stunners), and environments that lead to the normalizing of haram relationships and public immorality. These are not the values our beloved Prophet (S.A.W) or our religion ever encouraged.
Our education institutions are meant to be nurseries for nurturing moral, intellectual, and spiritual development. They are meant to raise voices for the oppressed, not distract students with entertainment that disconnects them from the pain and struggles of their brothers and sisters.
The Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W) said: "The believers are like one body, when one part hurts, the whole body feels the pain." (Sahih Muslim & Bukhari)
How then can we celebrate, dance, and indulge in music while our brothers and sisters in Palestine bleed?
Instead of a concert, why not hold an awareness campaign, peaceful protest which highlights the importance of unification of ummah and Muslim armies for Gaza? These efforts build unity, character, and connect students to the real struggles of the Ummah.
This is not about being âagainst fun.â Itâs about being conscious of the time we are living in. Itâs about recognizing our duty as Muslims, especially the educated youth, to rise above distractions and become a voice for the voiceless.
If the Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W) was among us today, would he attend or approve of such an event while Gaza burns?
Letâs reflect deeply. May Allah guide us all towards what is best for our Akhirah and accept from us any effort made for His sake.
