Anil Kumar Chowhan, a self-taught calligraphy artist from Hyderabad, India, is renowned for adorning more than 200 mosques across the country with Quranic verses in Arabic.

His passion for calligraphy was sparked while painting signboards in Urdu for shops in his city to support his family. Belonging to a humble Hindu background, he had to leave his studies after 10th grade. Chowhan has also painted 30 temples featuring Hindu deities, numerous dargahs (mausoleums), and monasteries.

He willingly painted over 100 mosques without any remuneration, driven by a spiritual connection to these places.
