It was a privilege to have a stall at today's Mi Save Solo buyer and seller meet at the SINU School of Tourism Grounds.

We scored a pretty awesome space, having a rest hut to ourselves, which we turned into a spot where our buyer appointments could kick back, chill, enjoy my Solomon Island music playlist, and have relaxed conversation about our products and services.

We were also a designated hydration Station, with Tourism Solomons installing a water dispenser near the entrance of the hut, which effectively made our spot an oasis for weary buyers (as well as Tourism Solomon staff, and other sellers 😂).

We had 24 appointments in the space of 7 hours, which has definitely resulted in connections that we will certainly update you on a little later.

We would like to thank Tourism Solomons and Ministry of Tourism for the invite, and to Solomon Islands National University's School of Tourism for being an awesome host!

Part of the first group taking off for a weekend with Hawksbill Turtles in the Arnavons!

They will meet the rest of their party at Suavanao, and then will make the boat journey to Kereihikapa Island in the Arnavons.

It couldn't have been a better day to travel! Clear skies, and the ocean is like a mirror!

An LVT Amphibious Vehicle lies likely where her load of troops disembarked on an offensive in 1943.

This is Tetere, a beachfront farm where these LVT's sit between mounds of Kumara and Watermelon Patches.

Boosting the local economy.

Copra is THE main cash industry for more than 85% of the Solomon Islands.

On our travels from East to West Guadalcanal we came across these young men well in to the process of copra production.

The process is physically demanding and time consuming. Pending the size of the batch, it can take over a week to complete one batch of copra.

The guys were happy to let Solomon Island Travel watch them work.

What did they have planned for the proceeds of their copra batch sale? Football Boots!
