Attention: All filmmakers of Hollywood and Egypt.
During a family discussion today, My Father brought it to my attention that may or may not appear in this movie written by Aladdin Elaasar, “The Last Pharaoh”, an ancient ‘Egyptian’ tell all about the life of the Nubian King Taharqa.
As I sat reading this article published by the , I felt the sense of enragement that bewitched me and my entire family; So I am taking the liberty today to fact check this utter misrepresentation of SUDANESE NUBIA AND TAHARQA THE SUDANESE NUBIAN KING.
Since forever; the Arab Egyptians have been shunning our spotlight by opening their tourism gates for people from all around the world to view their ‘mighty’ pyramids. However, what should be known, is the fact that our Meroe Pyramids and our pharaonic kingdoms were much older and richer and date back to the Kingdom of Kush (I am not a historian therefore I will not be commenting on dates as I will not be able to do my country’s history justice).
Since forever; the people of Egypt have been blatantly stealing our heritage and calling it theirs. Yes you may have colonized Sudan at some point, but please stop riding the Band Wagon of being the ‘first’ Pharaonic civilization. You simply copied and variated our ancestors visions and made them grander.
The Fact of the matter is, I, as a citizen of the Republic of Sudan urge my people to continue to denounce this movie, if it does come out, as it would be an utter disappointment, shame and insult to our history, culture, heritage and roots.
Our generation today are the gatekeepers of our history. Correct these imbeciles wherever you go. Make our Meroe Pyramids Great Again.
