Three things on our Resilience Radar this week; moments, people, and stories that remind us of the power of the human spirit🌱

🚇 “TfL is blaming me for being run over and crushed by not one, but two trains.” Sarah de Lagarde’s fight for justice shows a spirit unshaken. With a £25 million legal battle ahead, she remains defiant, not disheartened.

🎾 Emma Raducanu is rebuilding, recharging, and ready to rise. The comeback journey is never linear – but hers looks set to disrupt the top tier once more.

🚴‍♂️ And as the Tour de France grips the world, we spotlight CWC guest Mark Beaumont, who shattered records cycling around the globe – 18,000 miles in just 79 days. 16 hours a day in the saddle with only 5 hours sleep each night. Proof that the human engine runs on resilience.

🕯️ “The resilience was as inspiring as the attack was ghastly”

Today marks 20 years since the 7/7 London bombings – a day of unimaginable loss and courage.

Adrian Heili, a former military medic, was in the third carriage when the bomb detonated at Edgware Road. He didn’t run from the chaos – he ran toward it – and saved the life of Daniel Biddle, who had been blown from the second carriage.

But Adrian didn’t stop there. He helped evacuate and rescue 12 more people. He is just one of the many brave individuals who acted with incredible selflessness that day.

We remember the 52 lives lost, the 770 injured, and the countless heroes – seen and unseen – who showed us what resilience truly means 👏
