Bayanat Engineering, an IHC Company, has entered the Advanced Air Mobility market through Skyports Infrastructure, as it integrates state-of-the-art meteorological sensing at Dubai’s first commercial vertiport.

To ensure the highest standards of safety and operational efficiency for eVTOL aircraft, Bayanat Engineering is deploying world-class technology from Vaisala, a global authority in weather, environmental, and industrial measurement.

As eVTOL aircraft demand precise, real-time weather data to operate safely in urban environments, the sensors deployed at the vertiport will monitor wind speed, visibility and atmospheric pressure continuously — enabling reliable, all-weather operations.

His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defence and Chairman of The Executive Council of Dubai, recently visited the air taxi station near Dubai International Airport — the first of its kind in the world — reaffirming Dubai’s commitment to leading the next era of global aviation.

Healthtech firm Everdrone AB has supplied medical drones to the Västra Götaland Region (VGR) in Sweden, strengthening emergency healthcare to reach about 300,000 residents.

The drone is dispatched in response to emergency calls and delivers defibrillators while awaiting ambulance arrival. The new base was inaugurated on April 29th and will became operational earlier this month.

Based in the city of hashtag , the new base will be the fourth facility deploying Everdrone’s new-generation drone (E3). The project is led by the Västra
Götaland Region in collaboration with Karolinska Institutet and Everdrone.

UAM Geomatics has released a new industry paper warning that the United States faces a projected $16.6 billion infrastructure investment gap that must be addressed if the emerging ‘Vertical Mobility Economy’ is to scale successfully.

The report, titled “As eIPP Launches, AAM Aircraft are Nearly Ready. The $16.6 Billion Infrastructure Gap Remains,” examines the infrastructure requirements needed to support commercial AAM operations across 62 major U.S. metropolitan regions through 2045. It has been co-authored by Michael J. Dyment, Managing Partner at NEXA Advisors LLC, and Benjamin Zevin, Director of UAM Geomatics.

Dyment presented the white paper as part of a ‘TED Talk’ to delegates at eVTOL Insights’ recent North America Conference, held at the National Advanced Air Mobility Center of Excellence (NAAMCE).

According to the analysis, while aircraft certification programs and regulatory frameworks are advancing rapidly, supporting infrastructure has not kept pace.

UAM Geomatics estimates that approximately $11.2 billion will be required for ground infrastructure including vertiports, charging systems, passenger facilities and utility upgrades, while a further $5.4 billion will be needed for air traffic control modernization, communications systems, surveillance technology and urban air traffic management capabilities.

L2 Aviation has joined Viasat’s Velaris ecosystem via GALAXY 1 COMMUNICATIONS, LLC, bringing advanced avionics integration and certification expertise to Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) and uncrewed aviation.

Until now, the industry sector has focused primarily on technical feasibility demonstrations. However, scaling operations safely depends on embedding connectivity into certified avionics architectures that can operate within regulated airspace.

By welcoming L2 Aviation into the Velaris ecosystem, Viasat has taken a further step towards closing that gap. L2 Aviation is a globally established avionics design, engineering, certification, manufacturing and installation specialist with nearly three decades of experience delivering safety-critical aircraft modifications across commercial, business, cargo and military fleets.

The signing ceremony took place following the conclusion of eVTOL Insights’ North America Conference, which was held at the National Advanced Air Mobility Center of Excellence (NAAMCE) near Springfield, Ohio on April 30th.
