Looking back to where it all began… You might not know, but long before our first ever release, we had a radio show.

Transmissions from Outer South was a monthly affair on in Cape Town for a couple of years. The station was run by a very special group of people (s/o ) with similar intentions, carving out a lane for forward thinking music.

For us, it was chance to showcase the sounds inspiring our way of doing things, this genre-fluid, outernational flex that gave birth to OS as a brand and collective, all put together by our don .

We had guest appearances from the likes of and a certain , who we’d go on to have a beautiful long-running relationship with. And occasionally we’d dive deep into a genre or region, taking you on a journey through sound, history and culture. It was pure vibes tbh and a lot of fun.

This album is the culmination of five years of us working with and the perfect expression of his versatility. Ever the deep thinker, the concept for this project has been crystal clear in the mind of Senpai for years. It’s an expression of his own journey of self reflection and his tendency to look inwards; a mirror held up to himself.

A special thank you to everyone who’s made it this far with us. We make it our absolute mission to produce projects through pure collaboration; it truly takes a village and we’re all elevating with this one.
