Just unboxed the Killswitch Joy-Con grip system for the Switch 2 and the first impression is how deliberately engineered everything feels rather than just “accessorised.”
The grip modules snap onto the Joy-Cons with a very tight, almost locked-in fit, turning the handheld setup into something that feels closer to a compact controller than a hybrid console. The shaping is doing most of the work here; the palm support and finger contours noticeably change how the system sits in your hands during longer sessions, especially compared to a bare Switch.
What stands out is that this isn’t just about comfort, it’s about integration. The grips are designed to work as part of a larger system with the protective shell, so the whole setup feels unified rather than layered. That said, it does add bulk, so it’s clearly aimed at people who prioritize ergonomics over minimal carry.
There’s also a precision to the fit that feels intentional, though it comes with the expectation that tolerances matter here more than usual. It’s one of those accessories where the engineering choices are obvious the moment you pick it up, for better or worse depending on what you want from a handheld setup.
