As promised, here are our craft station stills from my daughters birthday party for your inspo and how to set up the perfect Adopt a Pet Party! ✨️

💾 Save now to remind you of the sweetest, simplest birthday party set up for your child's next birthday!

As you know from the previous reels it was my daughter's 5th birthday last month, and I just can't stop sharing this theme!

If you haven't already seen, check out our previous posts or read on. This ‘Adopt a Pet’ themed party, and each station had a different craft or play activity. It was super simple to set up—and honestly, you could easily adapt this for a rainy day at home or as a fun summer boredom-buster for just your own kids!

Here’s how we set it up:

🐾 Station 1 – Choose your plush pet
Let each child pick a soft toy to adopt.

🐾 Station 2 – Name your pet and make a collar
We used pipe cleaners and letter beads to create little name collars—so easy and cute!

🐾 Station 3 – Decorate a pet carrier
We used small boxes and decorated them with stickers, pens, glitter—whatever we had around.

🐾 Station 4 – Animal Hospital
Kids gave their pets a check-up using toy stethoscopes, bandages, plasters—perfect for dramatic play.

🐾 Station 5 – Fill out the official adoption certificate
Such a sweet keepsake for the kids to take home.

🐾 Station 6 – Playtime!
Lots of pretend play, cuddles, and fun with their new furry friends.

🎈 We had children from age 2 to 15 joining in, and every single one of them got involved. It was such a hit!

Hope this gives you some fun inspiration for the summer holidays ahead. Let me know if you try it! Follow for more fun, themed entertainment ideas for kids! ✨

May Madness: 2 kids' birthdays, 5 days apart… and more cake than I care to admit 🎂🎉

If you’ve been wondering why it’s been a little quiet around here—it’s because May completely ran away with us!

We’ve been in full celebration mode with:
✨ Two birthdays just 5 days apart
✨ Half term fun
✨ And some exciting rugby wins too! 🏉💪

It’s been the kind of whirlwind that only a parent truly understands—equal parts joy, chaos, and crumbs on the floor. 😅

Can you guess how many birthday cakes we went through this month?

🇬🇧✨ A little VE Day fun today — 80 years on! ✨🇬🇧

We pulled out the bunting, got a bit arty (because why not?), and baked up something sweet—mainly so the kids could sneak spoonfuls of icing when they thought I wasn’t looking. 😄

We talked (in between cake bites) about why today matters—80 years since the end of WWII in Europe. Big ideas like courage, peace, and gratitude, made small enough for little minds to grasp.

Theme days like this are my favourite—not because they’re picture-perfect (they’re not!)—but because they bring us together, spark curiosity, and make memories we’ll actually remember.

Sharing these little moments with you feels like chatting with friends over the garden fence—and I hope you know that’s exactly how I want this space to feel. I’ve got some exciting things in the works to help you bring more of this kind of play and connection into your days too…

Did you do anything for VE Day today? Or do your little ones love a good reason to dress up and eat cake too?!

It is almost MAY and in the UK that means that the starting a new school transitions have started!

We are beginning to prepare our son for his next chapter - starting secondary school! Thinking of all the parents who are also taking that next step with their children - be it starting preschool, primary, secondary, college or university ! With this in mind, I wanted to share some of the school transition printables that we have used at home in the past and also ones that we use daily to help support a positive mindset for our kids!

👀 Swipe to see:
❤️ Pocket Hug – A little reminder that your child is loved, even when you're apart.po
⭐ Pocket Star – A confidence booster they can keep in their pocket.
💛 Happy Heart Worksheet – A simple but effective way to help kids process their feelings.
📝 Lunchbox Affirmation Cards – A little note of encouragement to brighten their day.

Out of all of these, my personal favourites are the Lunchbox Notes and the Happy Heart Worksheet. My son struggled with separation anxiety until he was 10, and this worksheet really helped him work through his feelings.

These printables are tried and tested in our home, and I can honestly say they make a difference! If you’re looking for easy ways to support your child’s emotions, give them a try. 💕

🐰 Hoppy Easter from our little nest to yours! 🐥

The kids have already got stuck into the snacks, crafts, and a whole lot of sugar — and somehow the table stayed (mostly) intact. We kept it simple, playful, and full of colour. Just how we like it.

Big thanks to all of you for being here — love this little community we’re building. Hope your day is all about the good stuff (and maybe a quiet cup of tea too)! Hope you all enjoy your printables from our Etsy shop, thank you for supporting our small business! 🛒

What did you have for breakfast this morning? 🍫 🍳
