“Tell us about yourself and your artist background?
I did a degree in Fine Art where I specialised in painting, I have always enjoyed experimenting with different mediums turning to hand stitching in 2008 as my main medium. Working with this technique has broadened my subject matter, as a painter it was all portraiture and now the artworks also cover wildlife too. Inspired predominantly by the everyday experiences of people and endangered British nature…”

From now until March, the longlisted titles will be read and discussed in classrooms across the UK before the shortlist is announced.
