The 2023 Nigeria Presidential Election Candidate, Peter Obi honored an 11- year old boy invitation to his Primary 6 graduation ceremony as a special guest.

Peter Obi says, “I was gladdened by his initiative at such a tender age and was even more astonished and elated interacting with the young lad. When I asked him how he knew me, he said that he had followed my journey during the elections and was inspired by the good things people said about me”.

"It took me years to finally be able to share publicly that I was born with Sickle Cell." - Singer Adekunle Gold says as he speaks on his journey with Sickle Cell Disease.

In a tweet on platform X (formerly known as Twitter), the singer said:

"Over the last 2 years, I have spoken about this disease during my performances, but I realize that more needs to be done.

Every year, over 100,000 children are born with Sickle Cell in Nigeria alone. Sickle Cell has no cure; it is highly under-researched because it primarily affects West Africans."

"I want to ensure that all the independent organizations doing the vital work, outreach, and research needed to fight Sickle Cell receive the resources and support that they desperately need. "
