I love this old building. It always looks like something that should be on the moon. The Dungeness Fog Signal Building is a former Trinity House research station, primarily active from the 1950s to the 1980s, designed to test maritime foghorn technology. Located on Dungeness Point, it was used to test air pressure in signals. It can cost upwards of £500 per NIGHT to stay here, in peak season!

WINCHELSEA GROYNES

It might LOOK bright, but this was pitch black. And why me and my buddy, got seperated.....why I tripped over at least EIGHT times, fell off the high shingle ridge TWICE, smashed my tripod and was covered in bruises......nice shot though!! 😂

The wooden groynes (or "gyrones") at Winchelsea Beach, particularly between the village and Pett Level, are historic coastal defenses designed to trap sand and shingle to prevent sea erosion. These man-made, often pencil-shaped, structures have been battered by the sea over decades, with many remaining as scenic, weathered wooden posts that create a unique, photogenic zigzagging shoreline.
