Hi! I'm Alice - creator and host of "On Sustainability". Here’s a bit about me:

I am half Belgian, half Swedish and currently live in Stockholm, studying Environmental Engineering at KTH.
I've always been an avid learner with a huge love for people, the outdoors, food and life. Activities such as climbing, cooking and reading make me happy.

My current obsession is permaculture and I'm now plunged in a book called “Gaia’s Garden”, learning how to integrate land, resources, people and the environment through mutually beneficial synergies.
The other book that I'm reading is “One Hundred Years of Solitude” by Gabriel García Márquez. I love the way in which it blends the everyday with the miraculous and the book is both making me laugh and reflect.

In my life, I strive to always be genuine, curious and loving 🌞

Hello! My name is Jana! I’m a cofounder, cohost, producer, and editor-in-chief for On Sustainability. I was born and raised in Los Angeles, California and am pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in International Studies - Global Environment and Health, and English Literature at .

My passion for this project stems from my experience in discussions that are rooted in the environment and politics. In my experience, the most productive conversations are with people who have different beliefs and who listen to opposing perspectives, which is what we facilitate at On Sustainability.

Although my career goals fall within sustainable development, I am extremely fond of art and poetry. Two artists who inspire me most are and Audre Lorde. Patti Smith shaped the way I interact with books, poetry and art, for which I am forever grateful, and Audre Lorde inspires me to speak up when I feel nervous, especially in her poem “Litany for Survival.”

Outside of the podcast I love to play sports including rock climbing, skiing, running, biking, and most recently surfing. I love how outdoor sports provide a way of meditation and community.
