India’s first planned satellite city, Navi Mumbai, shows what a difference good planning can make. Wide roads, better traffic flow and a driving experience that actually puts a smile on your face.

Cruising through the city’s hotspots in the Hyundai Venue N Line reminded me that you don’t always need highways or mountain roads to have fun behind the wheel, sometimes a well-planned city is all it takes.

BMW’s X division that makes SUVs and BMW’s M division that makes performance cars, came together to develop the XM which hasn’t done well in sales as it doesn’t have much to offer in terms of ride, handling or comfort!

The high weight really bogs the car down with the high price not helping either, thus dealers cleared stock at 50% discount, yes this XM which has an on-road price of Rs. 3 crores was sold at Rs. 1.5 crores by certain dealers to clear inventory, ouch!

JSW is all set to bring the Jetour brand to India with the launch of the T2 and I am honestly very excited because Chinese cars offer unparalleled value when it comes to features and size!

The Jetour T2 is likely to be priced around the Rs. 35 lakh mark, positioning it in sort of no man’s land as there is a void in the Rs. 30-40 lakh segment!

Real cars are more than screens and features, they are all about the driving feel and that has a lot to do with the underpinnings of the car - the chassis set-up, the suspension balance and the steering calibiration!

We all feel that good handling and great body-control is only possible in more expensive cars but sometimes good things do come in small packages too, like in the case of the Skoda Kylaq which brings European dynamics to the sub 4-metre segment!

2026 is the year of the sedans as all get updates and the Hyundai Verna is the first sedan to get a facelift this year!

With the updated Verna, Hyundai has given the car more features (while also removing a few), the variant line-up has been rejigged but sadly the turbo-petrol manual is no longer offered in top-trim, ouch!

The turbo-petrol engine offers great performance but the NA motor lacks grunt which is further highlighted by the CVT gearbox!

The S63 AMG is one of the fastest Mercedes models on sale right now because it’s a plug-in hybrid with 802 HP of power!

Thus in spite of the hefty weight, it still manages to do the 0-100 km/hr sprint in just 3.3 seconds!

Of course it’s an S-Class so you get all the comfort and luxury in the world!

If there is one body-style that I absolutely love, it’s sedans!

The driving feel and the visual appeal of a sedan is unmatched, there is nothing that even comes close!

Right from great body control to amazing grip around the corners, sedans always put a massive smile on my face.

Norton is back and it’s now owned by TVS which makes the Manx R India’s very first desi super bike!

The Norton Manx R is fast and is loaded with tech, it’s fun to ride but has a committed riding position!

This particular variant, the Signature, costs Rs. 50 lakhs in the UK so expect it to cost a lot more in India (even after the India-UK FTA)!

The Skoda Epiq has been unveiled in Zurich today and it’s the perfect electric car for India because it’s compact, feature loaded and has a claimed range of 440 kms!

While Skoda says it’s considering the Epiq for India, there is no confirmation yet as getting it at the right price will be a challenge, unless locally manufactured (which is unlikely given the low volumes)!

I really like the design of the Skoda Epiq which draws inspiration from the Vision 7S Concept!
