Welcome to an artist talk and book launch for new book ‘Känningen’ this Saturday at 13.00 at

The book ‘Känningen’ depicts a small island in the Swedish east coast called Blå Jungfrun and it’s mythical history. The island is said to be ‘Blåkulla’, the place where witches gather around Easter to feast with the devil himself.

The stones from Blå Jungfrun are cursed. If you take one home, you risk bad luck. But there is a way to lift the curse; by sending them to the townhall in Oskarshamn. The staff will then return them to the uninhabited island.

The book consists of pictures of stones from the temporary stone archive in Oskarshamn. The packages sometimes include letters with stories about the accidents the stone has caused. During the pandemic, the stone archive grew and the tone of the letters seemed more desperate. In the book, pictures from the stone archive are combined with pictures from Blå Jungfru.

We are still very proud of and her book Splinter that won the Swedish photobook award! ✨

Her book, the rest of the nominated and all of the applicants are now on an exhibition tour arranged by . First stop is . Opening tomorrow at 17.00!

”Splinter” is a photographic book about people living in constant disorder, understood both literally and metaphorically, and about the feeling of uneasiness that their lives provoked.

The story took place in a house that had turned into a kind of warehouse - a space packed with things, whether working or not. It seemed that the constant change gave meaning to that reality. Yet its inhabitants apparently refused to accept that only order is legitimate in today’s world.

Pictures documenting the house were taken in the course of a year. What had been changing during this time was not only the place being in the state of a perpetual transformation but also the feelings accompanying the process of documenting this world. A belief that everyone can live however they want, even in a completely disorganized space was followed by anxiety that this visual and material chaos would lead to a catastrophe. And yet both turned out to be real.
