New release: JOE BABY (Stephen Edwards)

Original score from the 2024 action thriller feature film directed by Steven Brand, starring Willa Fitzgerald, Ron Perlman and Harvey Keitel, produced by Latigo Films and released by ITN Distribution (USA).

THE STORY: A money collector for a private investigator is hired to track down 10 million dollars stolen in a dodgy real estate deal, opening a complex can of worms.

THE SCORE: “When director Steven Brand approached me about writing the music for Joe Baby, I was excited because he made a really compelling film and he really was committed to making the score be an integral character in the film. Recording sessions with musicians were super collaborative – we were fortunate to have him present so he could explain scenes and motivations of the characters to the musicians as we recorded. What resulted was a score that supported the visuals and story arc that we’re all proud of.” – Stephen Edwards

THE COMPOSER: Stephen Edwards is one of today’s most in-demand film and television composers. An accomplished pianist who can be heard on Hollywood’s top soundtracks, Edwards has also won acclaim for his orchestral and choral compositions that have been performed at Carnegie Hall and the Vatican. His original compositions are featured in top grossing films including the multiple Oscar-winning Dallas Buyers Club, Nomadland, Ava, Southpaw, The Mechanic, Amelia, I Love You Philip Morris, and over 50 other films in genres ranging from comedy to action, martial arts and documentaries. Edwards received the Hollywood Film & TV Music Award for his original score to the 2008 film Finding Rin-Tin-Tin and a 2nd award in 2017 for Requiem. The soundtrack of Requiem For My Mother, Edwards’ third commercially-released recording, peaked at #3 on the Billboard Classical Charts in 2017 and was on the Grammy Awards ballot for Outstanding Choral Composition. Edwards is founder and artistic director of Source in Sync, an independent production music library. A citizen of both the United States and Italy, Edwards lives in California with his two daughters.

New release: CAMPAMENTO GARRA DE OSO (Cláudia Correia)

Original score from the 2025 family adventure comedy feature film directed by Sílvia Quer, starring Elisabet Casanovas, Anabel Alonso and Edu Soto, produced by A Film About Quiet Jazz and released by Filmax (Spain).

THE STORY: Two 9-year-olds, adventurous Maia and timid Jan, race against time to save their summer camp from a quirky developer. With help from Fritz, a talking skunk, they search for a legendary bear in the valley.

THE SCORE: “Composing the score for my first feature film has been an unforgettable experience – I could not have asked for a more inspiring start to my journey in cinema. The story speaks directly to the inner child in all of us, carrying messages about friendship, imagination, and our connection to nature. With such themes and richly drawn characters, I aimed to create a score as emotionally resonant and purely beautiful as the film. Translating this world into orchestral music was an extraordinary opportunity, and I poured all my soul into it. I am deeply grateful to have worked closely with director Silvia Quer, producer Oriol Marcos, and executive producer Tiffany Ruoz, whose vision and support were essential in shaping the score. This film will always remain a treasured beginning.” – Cláudia Correia

THE COMPOSER: Cláudia Correia is a Portuguese composer and pianist whose work thrives on the beauty of contrasts and hybrid musical languages. Classically trained from an early age, she began her journey at the piano before expanding her practice into jazz and other contemporary styles. Her scores span film, television, and interactive media, often combining orchestral writing with electronic textures, improvisation, and experimental sound worlds. Whether composing for live orchestra, creating immersive sound design, or developing adaptive music systems for games, Cláudia seeks to dissolve boundaries. Campamento Garra de Oso is her first feature film score.

New release: MOI QUI T'AIMAIS (Philippe Sarde)

Original score from the 2025 drama feature film directed by Diane Kurys, starring Marina Foïs, Roschdy Zem and Vincent Colombe, produced by New Light Films and released by Pan Distribution (France).

THE STORY: The tumultuous love story between two cinema stars at the height of their glory: Yves Montand and Simone Signoret.

THE SCORE: “When I read the script for this film, I thought Diane Kurys had written a film that retraces my entire professional life, since it brings together many of the directors I’ve worked for. That’s why the project moves and touches me particularly. The music had to express a simple emotion. Because Diane likes things that convey emotions simply, without complexity. From the script stage, I worked on her instructions. I was wary of all the pitfalls of easy music that has nothing to do with simple music. I initially wondered if there should be a connection with the score of the films mentioned, like those by Sautet, for example, but Diane didn’t want to, and she was right. For the score, I favoured the piano. What’s simpler and more complicated at the same time than a piano? What’s more moving than a piano?” – Philippe Sarde

THE COMPOSER: Known as one of the most original French film composers, Philippe Sarde’s career embraces 50 years of collaboration on the best movies and with great directors. Son of an opera singer and nephew of the composer George Auric, his career began with Les choses de la vie (Claude Sautet, 1970) at the age of 16. The immediate success of the music and the recording of the “Chanson d’Hélène” by Romy Schneider made him immediately famous for his very first movie. This marked the start of Philippe Sarde’s legendary career, writing scores for the best directors that went on to become milestones in film music. His exigency and the originality of his writing, mixing unforgettable melodies with unusual orchestrations, made him the regular composer of Claude Sautet, Marco Ferreri, Bertrand Tavernier, Roman Polanski, Georges Lautner, André Téchiné, Costa-Gavras and many others. Phillipe Sarde received an Oscar nomination for Tess (Roman Polanski, 1979), as well as being nominated 10 times for the Best Music César, winning the prize for Barocco (André Téchiné, 1976). Defined by Bertrand Tavernier as “musical screenwriter”, Philippe Sarde is famous to create feeling with his music that goes beyond the images on screen. Among his best known scores are The Bear (Jean-Jacques Annaud, 1988), Ghost Story (John Irvin, 1981), Quest for Fire (Jean-Jacques Annaud, 1981), Lord of the Flies (Harry Hook, 1990) and Music Box (Costa-Gavras, 1989).

New release: THE TH*****ME (Keegan DeWitt)

Original score from the 2025 romance drama feature film directed by Chad Hartigan, starring Zoey Deutch, Jonah Hauer-King and Ruby Cruz, produced by Filmopoly, Star Thrower Entertainment and Jupiter Peak Productions, released by Vertical Entertainment (USA), Signature Entertainment (UK), Metropolitan Filmexport (France), Seven. One Entertainment Group (Germany) and Madfer Films (Spain).

THE STORY: When a young man’s crush leads him into an unexpected th*****me, he thinks it’s his ultimate fantasy come true. But when the fantasy ends, all three are left with sobering consequences, forcing them to be responsible for their actions.

THE SCORE: “Chad and I first met at the age of 17. As so many do at the age, we bonded over our favorite songs, records and films. We couldn’t have been more different, and continue to be, but something was seeded then that now allows us to often collaborate without a lot of explaining. He simply told me he wanted this film to transcend period and genre, and instead play as a genuine portrayal of flawed people doing their best, and often failing with comical results. Instantly we flashed to the romantic comedies and dramas of the 80s and 90s, filled with incredible actors who weren’t perfect, who often did the wrong thing and constantly challenged us to like them. Characters a lot like all of us. I was inspired by the romantic sweeping scores of 1960s Italy featuring Monica Vitti. They were steeped in s*x and wit and had undeniable melodies that took a crowbar to your heart. As I sat at the piano the score had been waiting for me. On my simple upright, which you hear in actual iPhone Voice Memos on tracks such as ‘The End’, ‘The Th*****me’ and ‘A New Reality’, there was this aching melody that spoke to the childishness of young love, 20s lust and then the rude awakening and realizations of adulthood, always arriving quicker than we expect it. This intimacy also somehow also connected with the raw and drifting sound of Manchester New Wave in our dancing scenes or the unravelling percussive spirals of our action scenes. I am deeply proud of this film in that I think it spans eras and will only be appreciated more with time. Chad’s cinematic voice, in my opinion, is a rare one of belief in the human heart and its ability to transcend and connect people, either in folly, in sacrifice or in trust. I hope this score does something to join in that spirit.” – Keegan DeWitt

THE COMPOSER: Over the past 10 years, Keegan DeWitt has brought 15 films to the Sundance Film Festival; titles that would go on to garner an Academy Award, multiple Sundance Audience Awards, and an Independent Spirit Award. In addition to this, Keegan continues to expand on previous collaborative relationships with exciting young directors that have helped make his work a mainstay at festivals worldwide. His score for the Elle Fanning standout-out All the Bright Places has populated playlists and racked up streams on Spotify, TikTok and Instagram since its premiere. It features a raw intimacy that explodes into an emotive and levitating orchestral suite that perfectly captures the emotional breadth of the viral novel it’s based on. Friendship, featuring the meme ruling Tim Robinson, came out last year and The Th*****me, a collaboration with longtime friend Chad Hartigan, is currently in theaters. Alongside his work as a composer, he has performed as a singer-songwriter and was a founding member of the band Wild Cub.
