New release: CONFESSIONS OF A SHAMAN (Pantawit Kiangsiri)

Original score from the 2026 horror feature film directed by Nattanont Cholumpi, starring Teeradetch Metawarayut, Shahkrit Yamnarm and Jelilcha Kapaun, produced by M Studio and released on IMAX (Thailand).

THE STORY: Tor, a young man seeking vengeance for his mother’s sudden death, turns to a master sorcerer and local shaman named Thian to inherit forbidden dark arts, unaware that the path will trap him in a terrifying cycle of supernatural consequences

THE SCORE: “What fascinated me most about this story – claimed to be based on true events – was how a Buddhist monk could transform into a practitioner of dark magic. For this to happen, one would have to endure profound trauma and misfortune, something extremely rare in Thai culture. My concept for the score was to follow Tor’s transformation from light to darkness as closely as possible, capturing every step of his psychological descent. I built the entire score around a three-note motif, first introduced in the opening cue on a low prepared piano. Throughout the film, this theme appears in many forms – from short, aggressive motifs to long, emotional phrases – reflecting Tor’s shifting state of mind. With only one month to complete the score, I worked closely with my trusted colleagues Jetsada Hongcharoen, Rattakorn Komol, and Tinakorn Thadsri to bring the project to completion. We spent days and nights recording a wide range of Thai and international instruments in our studio, including the eerie Japanese peacock harp, as well as Khlui Phiang O, Pi Tai, Vote, Thunder Maker, So Ou, Tro Kantrum, Ching, Krap, Taphon, Klong That, Poeng Mang Khok and Klong Khaek. We also recorded several key dramatic sequences with the Budapest Scoring Orchestra. The result is a score that blends traditional Thai sonorities, experimental textures, and orchestral elements into a dark, emotionally driven musical journey.” – Pantawit Kiangsiri

THE COMPOSER: Pantawit Kiangsiri is an award-winning composer for multimedia and co-founder of Pantawit Music Production (PMP). Confessions of a Shaman (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack) by Pantawit Kiangsiri

New release: ARNIE & BARNEY - THE WATER QUEST (Christoph Zirngibl)

Original score from the 2026 animated feature film directed by Sean Heuston, featuring the voices of David Collins, Juliette Crosbie and The Umbilical Brothers, produced by Studio 100 International, Studio Isar Animation, Telegael and 3Doubles Producciones, released by Port au Prince Pictures (Germany).

THE STORY: Two clumsy ants with big dreams and zero coordination stumble through life in the meadow, causing chaos wherever they go. A slapstick comedy about friendship, failure, and the tiny triumphs that make even ants feel like heroes.

THE SCORE: “One of my first tasks on Arnie & Barney was writing the backing groove for a hilarious rap battle scene. Sean, the director, didn’t want me to ‘just’ create a beat, since there’s a band performing on stage. Instead, his idea was to write a groovy, driving funk track in the vein of Bootsy Collins—and that’s when I knew: this project was going to be a lot of fun. And I was right. The soundtrack turned into a wild mix of styles, ranging from epic ‘Also sprach Zarathustra’ vibes to 1970s heist-movie scoring à la Lalo Schifrin, with heavy brass and crazy vocals, moving through salsa, deliberately ‘sloppy’ children’s instrument music, all the way to 1990s adventure scoring in the vein of one of my heroes, Alan Silvestri. A personal highlight is a cue in the last third of the film where everything comes together: ‘The Band Goes Crazy’ starts with a live band—playing one of those dull corporate background gigs on screen—that gets hypnotized and completely loses control – shoutout to Christian Diener on bass and Stephan Ebn on drums who absolutely nailed it! It then evolves into a disco-style party version of the Arnie & Barney theme. Stylistically, it’s a nod to the infamous Galactic Funk album from 1977. And that’s not even mentioning the incredible performance by the Filmorchester Babelsberg under the baton of my friend Ben Palmer – or the fact that I wrote one of the saddest songs I’ve ever composed for a key emotional scene, featuring a breathtaking vocal performance by Celena Pieper. I hope you enjoy listening to this diverse score as much as I enjoyed creating it.” – Christoph Zirngibl

THE COMPOSER: Christoph Zirngibl is an award-winning German film composer based in Munich with credits spanning over 120 productions across feature films, prime-time television, series and documentaries. His work includes Where’s Wanda? – the first German Apple TV+ series, now returning for a second season on 21 October 2026 – the animated feature Mia and Me: The Hero of Centopia, and the Netflix documentary Skandal! Bringing Down Wirecard. He has received the Hollywood Music in Media Award, the Jerry Goldsmith Award, and the Preis der Deutschen Fernsehakademie, and is a member of the German Film Academy and the Society of Composers and Lyricists. Previous release on the MovieScore Media label include Finis Terrae and Transit.

New release: WINNIPEG, EL BARCO DE LA ESPERANZA (Diego Navarro)

Original score from the 2026 animated feature film directed by Beñat Beitia and Elio Quiroga, featuring the voices of Paulina García, Alfredo Castro and Luis Gnecco, produced by Dibulitoon Studio, La Ballesta, El Otro Film and Malabar Animation Studio.

THE STORY: The odyssey of 2200 Spanish refugees who sailed from France to Chile in September 1939, escaping Francisco Franco’s dictatorship after three years of devastating Civil War.

THE SCORE: “Writing the score for Winnipeg, el barco de la esperanza has been quite an emotional journey. I have been involved in the project since its inception in 2019, when the producers asked me for a letter of interest to participate by writing its soundtrack. After reading the script, I remember becoming deeply moved. The story had a profound impact on me. Immediately after, I began researching and, among many other things, I discovered that members of one or several Basque choirs were traveling within the passenger contingent. For obvious reasons, I found this fact fascinating. They dedicated themselves to entertaining, singing in four-part harmony, during the long, complex, and difficult one-month crossing until reaching Valparaíso, through an Atlantic Ocean plagued with N**i U-Boat submarines and overcoming a thousand obstacles that arose during the trip. They were a key piece. That is why I decided that the main theme would feature choral participation along with the symphony orchestra—and not only in this piece, which is the central DNA of the score that I later develop in the film, but also in many other compositions such as ‘Corazones Abiertos’ (Open Hearts). In my music, I try to ensure that everything is well-founded; nothing is gratuitous or left to chance. In the Main Theme of the score, the choir sings in Latin ‘Navis Pei’, which means ‘Ship of Hope’, followed by the word ‘WI-NNI-PEG’, the name of our ship. The role that the choir has in the soundtrack is a great tribute I wanted to pay to the original choir, which made the Winnipeg’s crossing more pleasant.
It is one of my most intimate and personal works to date. It is the music of the historical epic of the Winnipeg, the music of nostalgia and sorrow for the lost homeland, and the grandeur of what was an exceptional gesture of solidarity. It is also the music of excitement and longing, of a search filled with hope to start living anew. The score, an ambitious musical production, was recorded between Santa Cruz de Tenerife, my city, and Prague. I had the privilege of working with the prestigious Coro de Voces Blancas del Conservatorio Profesional de Música de Santa Cruz (Children’s Choir of the Professional Conservatory of Music of Santa Cruz). It is, in fact, our third collaboration in my filmography. The Winnipeg Male Choir, specially created for this project, also participated. The orchestra was recorded at the prestigious Smecky Studios, performed by The City of Prague Philharmonic Orchestra, all under my baton.
It has been an honor and a huge responsibility to tell, through my music, such a significant chapter of our history. It was one of those acts of solidarity between peoples that, even today, makes more sense than ever. As Julia beautifully tells us in the film, there were and there are many more Winnipegs today. Ships and stories of emigration that deserve to be made visible. May the Winnipeg’s crossing continue beyond the seas!” – Diego Navarro

THE COMPOSER: Diego Navarro is one of the most renowned names in Spanish film music nowadays. El cuco received the Best Music award at the 24th Fantastic Costa del Sol International Film Festival in 2023.
