'Songs of Earth', scored by Rebekka Karijord, is an Official Selection at this year’s TIFF (Toronto International Film Festival). The film by Margreth Olin documents one of the most scenic valleys in Norway where Olin's father grew up and where generations have been living in community with nature. TIFF will be hosting 'Songs of Earth'’s North American Premiere.

When writing the music, Rebekka devised an unorthodox approach to scoring that involved taking field recordings and working closely with the London Contemporary Orchestra to translate them into a musical, orchestral palette. This unique method of composing brings the music even closer to embodying the essence of the nature seen on screen, connecting on a deeper emotional level the wonder that is truly all around us.

On August 28th OONA & Under Tallarna will host their second event together, returning to the magical outdoor facilities at Under Tallarna in Järna. This evening will serve as an ode to and celebration of the natural world. Setting further context around this is the freshly issued UN climate report, again reiterating the impact we humans have had and continue to have on nature. The aspect so many of us are having trouble with is finding ways to feel and embody this extremely catastrophic and existential information. Our intention with this evening is to serve as an invitation to bring people together around a continuum of sound, light, poetry and food to honour the natural world that holds us all.

Today we are very proud to announce the release of the Original Soundtrack to the film “I Am Greta” about climate activist and incredible human being Greta Thunberg. This score comes as a result of a collaborative effort between OONA composers Rebekka Karijordand Ekstrand , and manages to carry the emotional language of Greta´s journey. We are curating an evening of music, film and food this Saturday August 22nd at the magical Under Tallarna, a beautiful farm in Järna. Music by Nils Berg Cinemascope, Lisa Montan, Matti Bye. Films and artwork by Martina Hoogland Ivanow & Löfström . Food by Gülbeden Kulbay.
