We remember Jellybean Johnson with deep warmth and gratitude. As a driving force behind The Time and the Minneapolis Sound, and through his work with Prince and as a producer, he shaped a musical legacy that will last for generations.

I was fortunate enough to meet him three times — in Minneapolis and again during an interview — and he was always joyful, open, and generous with his time. Jellybean’s beats, his guitar fire, and his kindness live on in the music he helped create and in the hearts of everyone he touched. 💜
