Auto Images is primarly known for a vast number of documentaries screened at leading TV channels and film festivals. Among the award winning films are Rolling Like a Stone (2005), Long Distance Love (2009) and Harbour of Hope/Hoppets hamn (2011). Director Magnus Gerttens recent film about Swedish musician Björn Afzelius, A Thousand Pieces/Tusen Bitar (2014), has received top reviews and an overwhe

lming response from the audience. Auto Images has also produced several successful fiction projects, including the Berlin Film Festival winners Daybreak (by Björn Runge) and My Uncle Loved the Colour Yellow (by Mats Olof Olsson). Among Auto Images co-productions are the Cannes winner Armadillo (Denmark), The Punk Syndrome (Finland),

Auto Images has since 2005 been producing the DVD series Mitt Hjärtas Malmö (From Malmö with love), based on private archive footage from Malmö. Until today Auto Images has released 12 DVD volumes, nearly 16 hours of archive film, depicting Malmö between 1905-2004. The company was founded in 1998 and is owned and run by Magnus Gertten, director/producer, and Lennart Ström, producer, with four employees.

Auto Images är främst känt för ett stort antal dokumentärfilmer som visas i ledande tv-kanaler och på internationella filmfestivaler. 80 YEARS SINCE THE SURVIVORS ARRIVED
Today, April 28, it is 80 years since the survivors portrayed in our three films Harbour of Hope, Every Face Has a Name and Nelly & Nadine arrived in Malmö, Sweden. All three films are directed by Magnus Gertten.

The survivors portrayed in our three films were rescued from the German concentration camps. On April 28 they arrived in Malmö with the Red Cross initiative known as the White Buses. They were among the thousands of people saved with this rescue mission.

NELLY & NADINE SCREENING IN PARIS
On the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the liberation of the Ravensbrück concentration camp, Nelly & Nadine is shown at the Mémorial de la Shoah in Paris. It takes place on Tuesday, April 29 at 7 p.m.

On Christmas Eve 1944, at the Ravensbrück concentration camp, Nelly Mousset-Vos and Nadine Hwang, political deportees, meet and fall in love. Nearly 70 years later, Sylvie Bianchi, Nelly's granddaughter, opens the couple's incredibly rich archives to tell the love story in the documentary Nelly & Nadine. Beyond the sensitive portrait of two committed women, the film sheds light on the long-ignored history of same-sex relationships that arose in the N**i concentration camps.

Director Magnus Gertten and Sylvie Bianchi are present at the screening of Nelly & Nadine at Mémorial de la Shoah in Paris. The screening is hosted by Suzanne Robichon, essayist and feminist activist.

NELLY & NADINE PREMIERES IN FRENCH CINEMAS
Today, November 27, our film Nelly & Nadine premieres in French cinemas. It is the distributor L’Atelier Distribution bringing the film to the French cinema screens.

This premiere follows a successful festival run across France, where the film has won awards at Festival du Film de Cabourg and Festival Face à Face - Saint-Etienne and has screened at festivals like WAR ON SCREEN - Festival international de cinémaen, Femigouin’fest Strasbourg, Chéries Chéries, Ecrans Mixtes, Bagdam Espace Toulouse, L'Oignon, Vues d’en face, Cinepride Nantes, Festival LGBT+ Et Alors?! and Festival Liberté, j’écris ton nom.

France is the 10th country where Nelly & Nadine has a cinema release, following premieres in countries like Canada, USA and Germany. Until now, Nelly & Nadine has screened at 150+ film festivals worldwide and won 26 international awards.

REACHING OVER 100 CINEMAS IN NORWAY
The Magnus Gertten documentary on Swedish Singer/Songwriter Cornelis Vreeswijk, entitled Somliga går med trasiga skor / Some of us walk in raggedy shoes is premiering in Norwegian cinemas this week. It is premiering in 88 cinemas across Norway on April 26, and will in the coming weeks reach over 100 cinemas across the country.

DANISH CINEMA RELEASE FOR CORNELIS-DOCUMENTARY
On January 29 the latest documentary by Magnus Gertten is released in Danish cinemas.
The film focuses on the life story of the singer/songwriter Cornelis Vreeswijk. It has the Danish title Cornelis Vreeswijk: Nogle går rundt i udtrådte sko. The film is released across all of Denmark.

JOIN MALMØ DOC LAB – DEADLINE FEBRUARY 2
On February 13-14 Auto Images is hosting the next edition of Malmø Doc Lab. During these two days we will run a special edition of our documentary lab, where Director and Story Consultant Geoffrey Smith is coming to Malmö to tutor at the workshop.

During these two days the six documentary projects selected for Malmø Doc Lab will go through a development process to find a stronger narrative focus. This will done by introductions of key narrative mechanisms by Geoffrey Smith and concrete development steps for each of the six selected project teams.

We are now accepting submissions for this next edition of Malmø Doc Lab. If you are a documentary maker in the Öresund region currently working on a project in development, we invite you to submit a project for participation. Deadline to submit is February 2.
