Drop by Malmö University tomorrow! At 15:00 on November 24th, the latest number of CBA is released together with an exhibition at Niagara, the Malmö University building on Norra Neptunigatan 1.
This issue of CBA offers new insights through voices of resistance from a neighbor who affects us all: Russia. How were its dreams of democracy shattered? How did it go from flaunting extravagant Eurovision stunts to prisoners dying at the frontline in Ukraine? Is it possible to steer into other pathways? Through the stories of Russian and ex-Russian artists, these comics share rarely heard perspectives on what it means to live within these changes, reflections that are normally out of reach for Western readers.
At the opening of the exhibition, drop by at 15:10 and listen to further perspectives presented by:
-Bo Petersson, Professor of Political Science and IMER at Malmö University, and director of the research platform RUCARR - Russia, Ukraine and the Caucasus Regional Research
and later on
-an artist who has contributed to the anthology, but wishes to remain anonymous.
During this day, you can also see a recorded interview with the artist Victoria Lomasko, known for her work on contemporary Russian society.
Comics by: Criminaliza, Olesya Gonserovskaya , Victoria Lomasko, Max Estropov, Ole Guacamole, Raisa Doloto, manifestophilus , Dmitry Pakhomov, La Blum, Åsa Harvard Maare, Oskar Aspman
