This weekend, the world’s best athletes returned to Holmenkollen for the FIS World Cup in cross-country skiing, ski jumping and Nordic combined - one of the most iconic venues in winter sport.

Behind the scenes, delivering the experience for thousands of spectators requires technology that performs in extreme outdoor conditions. Working with Holmenkollen, ZetaDisplay refreshed one of the arena’s large outdoor LED displays, replacing a decade-old installation with a brighter, more energy-efficient solution designed for visibility in all weather.

With another World Cup weekend under its belt, it’s a good moment to look back at how the project came together.

As part of our ISE 2026 partner tour, at the Samsung booth, Jan Wahlgren talked us through two standout developments. First, the new Spatial Series, launching with an 85” 3D display designed to elevate fashion and experiential retail environments; and second, a striking 130” display built to deliver real impact in high-traffic retail spaces.

The technology certainly turned heads. But from our viewpoint, the real opportunity lies in how these innovations are integrated into a broader content strategy, connected to intelligent CMS platforms, and aligned with measurable business outcomes.
