🦾 We’ve been to our first and are now on our way home.

As speakers and spoke about ”Making Digital Twins Playable - from UEFN to Unreal Engine” and shared insights from their project called ”Playable Place”. 🌎🎮

We will share more from the talk in the next upcoming days and eventually the talk will be available in YouTube. 🎥

It was so much fun to meet so many “epic people” ☺️ working with both and as their immersive and interactive tool of choice.

Time to reflect on all of the new ideas and thoughts we’ve gotten after talking to so many and listening to interesting talks. Also need to recharge after an intense week. 🔋 But next week we are back and ready to talk to anyone interested in either UEFN, UE or Generative AI. 🚀

What happens when a real place - built from photogrammetry, drone data, and geospatial mapping - becomes playable inside one of the world’s largest social gaming platforms?

In this innovation project, we at TOMLIN STUDIO, together with Linköpings universitet and Norrköpings kommun, explored how a digital twin of the city of Norrköping could be brought into Fortnite using Unreal Editor for Fortnite (UEFN).

The result:
🗺️ A playable prototype based on a real urban environment
🎯 A first step for game jams, education, and place-based storytelling
🚀 A method to future-proof and activate digital twins in an interactive way

🎮 We went to DreamHack () for the first time and as Swedish and developers and creatives, we were so happy to see being played everywhere at the festival! 🙌

When the kids screamed ”Savage” at and tried to get a selfie with him, it not only made me even more certain that making games and experiences inside of the Fortnite universe is the way to go, but it also touched me.😍 These kids really LOVE the platform and players and content creators like and are their big idols.

It was also fun to see being there with and we now have three beautiful game controllers to bring back home with us. 🧱🫶

Besides that we got to meet two fellow UEFN-people and I got this friend bracelet. 😍 Thank you we will come back next year! This time without bags. 😅😎

Last week Fortnite had an amazing success with the live event directly from NYC 🌆 called "The Prelude", introducing the Chapter 2 Remix in which artists like Snoop Dogg, Ice Spice, Eminem and a tribute to Juice Wlrd coming up. Dressed in a new Marshmello skin we attended the concert and here's a some footage from that for you to check out.

Whether you were there in person or in-game, it was a fantastic event. We can't wait to see what happens at the end of this year, remember the Big Bang event with Eminem? We expect to blown away again. Music + gaming = 😍
