The bronze statue in the foreground is of a young boy sitting cross-legged.
The tall glass obelisk, officially named "Kristall, vertikal accent i glas och stål" (Crystal, vertical accent in glass and steel), is a 37.5-meter-high glass pillar created by Edvin Öhrström. It is a famous landmark at the square.
The fountain at Sergels torg is a well-known feature of the square, completed in 1968.
The lower part of Sergels torg is colloquially known as "Plattan" (The Plate).
The square is named after the 18th-century sculptor Johan Tobias Sergel.
