9 STATES. The fixation of the unfixable. Where a moment and eternity merge.

9 STATES is a project of nine Units.

I continue to explore the boundaries of Bead Impact Art with quiet reverence. This new language is beautiful.

The hidden remains hidden. What hasn’t yet been named exists beside what has already been described.

Each step enters the unknown. Before it is taken, it doesn’t exist.

The fixation of the unfixable. Where a moment and eternity merge.

WHAT IS REVEALED DEFINES PRESENCE.

9 STATES is a project of nine Units.

Each Unit begins with one bead. The bead does not construct an image. It is the material point through which a real human act is fixed in matter.

UNIT 004 — COLLISION OBSERVED
UNIT 005 — I TOUCHED
UNIT 006 — DO NOT SAY NO
UNIT 007 — I AM NOT AFRAID
UNIT 008 — RESONANCE
UNIT 009 — ACCEPTANCE
UNIT 010 — I AM ALREADY HERE
UNIT 011 — HIDDEN BLOOM
UNIT 012 — LIKE SILENCE

UNIT 009 — DEPTH OF SERENITY. PROJECT STATES.

This is one of nine Units in PROJECT STATES. A state isn’t depicted. It’s entered through a real human act and fixed in matter.

Each Unit begins with one bead. The bead doesn’t construct an image. Through the bead, the act is fixed in matter.

Once the act has occurred, it cannot be undone. A completed action becomes a fact.

UNIT 011 — RETURN TO REALITY

The process of creating one of nine square Units.

This Unit carries a state of abundance — a movement from chaos toward flowering.

30 years. Thousands of stories.

For three decades, ideas passed through my hands and entered the material world. Each became part of my reality. Each changed something — the surface, my state, a decision, the direction that followed.

Over time, one question became more important than the complexity of what I could create:

What actually changes reality?

The thought?
The image?
Or the action through which an idea enters the world?

I did not yet know the answer.

But this question eventually led me away from thousands of possibilities — toward one action.

Water for the Dragon. It begins with a 17th-century Caucasian Dragon Carpet preserved in the Museum for Islamic Art in Berlin. During the Second World War, an incendiary bomb destroyed a large part of the carpet. In its restoration, the missing areas were deliberately left visible, allowing the history of destruction to remain part of the work.

Many years later, a contemporary Doppelgänger was created to enter into dialogue with the surviving woven field of the original carpet.

Through CulturalxCollabs, I received Fragment No. 65 of this contemporary carpet and became part of the dialogue it had already begun.

While preparing to work with the fragment, I felt that one element was still missing: water.

I did not want to answer the fire, erase the loss, or correct the history of the carpet.

My attention remained with the Dragon.

As the water disappeared from my hand, one transparent bead remained. I sewed it into the woven surface of the fragment, where it rests almost invisibly like a drop of water.

This dialogue is especially meaningful to me because I come from the Caucasus.

I offer water to the Dragon.

One transparent bead. One real act.
Water for the Dragon.

Dialogue I — Black Square

I was searching for one simple act—an act that could be performed by anyone, anywhere in the world.

An act small enough to remain accessible, yet real enough to unite people through creation and begin a movement from darkness toward light.

That search led me to the Black Square.

I did not want to destroy the limit. I wanted to discover whether something new could begin within it through a constructive act.

One black bead, sewn by hand into the black field.

But the meaning of an act is not determined by its form alone. It is determined by its purpose. Bead Impact Art therefore begins with a question: What do I want this action to achieve?

The Codex of Bead Impact Art defines seven directions through which that purpose can unfold. The field, material, colour, bead, and form may change, but the action always begins with a conscious purpose.

The field remained.
The act entered.
Bead Impact Art began.
