Been super busy at work lately. So busy that I couldn’t even return calls.
You know how life just happens sometimes. it gets so intense that you focus only on surviving, and in the process you lose track of other important things.
My mom had been calling me for days, and I kept postponing. Always telling myself “I’ll call back later.”
Last night, as I got home, my wife handed me the phone and said, “Your mom is on the line.”
Ah, I felt so guilty. I was already prepared to apologize, to beg her not to be offended. But instead, she hushed me and said, “Don’t worry, I understand.” Then she went on to ask about me. My health, my mental state, if I was eating well, if I was resting.
We ended up talking for 30 minutes, and during those moments, it felt like the pressure I’d been carrying just evaporated. I was reminded that no matter how old I get, I will always be somebody’s baby.
❤️ Please don’t neglect your parents. Call them often. It gives them joy to hear your voice. Nobody wishes you well the way they do. Nobody accepts you the way they do.
👉 If you read up to this point, I’ve instructed my assistant to gift airtime to 15 random people who share this post and comment “I love you dad and mom.”
Please use it to call your parents. And if you want, feel free to tell us how it went using the anonymous message link in the comments.
