The Morrison family’s ties to Islay date back to the 1930’s, when William Walker put the island’s whisky on the map.
Stanley P. Morrison took over the legacy and bought Bowmore Distillery in 1963.
After decades of expansion and new ventures, the family built their own Aberargie Distillery outside Perth in 2017.
But their heart still beat for Islay.
In 2020, Mac-Talla – “echo” in Gaelic – was born, a series of Islay whiskies sourced from carefully selected (but secret) distilleries on the island.
Today, Mac-Talla lives on as the family’s echoing return to Islay – with Terra, Mara and Strata paying homage to the earth, sea and mountain.
