Markus Bjørlykke makes his role debut as Florestan in Fidelio at Läckö Castle Opera ✨🎭

In this summer’s production Markus Bjørlykke takes on the heroic role of Florestan for the first time. He joins a cast that includes Markus Schwartz as Rocco, in a production directed by Lisa Charlotte Friederich and conducted by Simon Kim Phipps 🎶

Joachim Bäckström sings Siegmund as Bayerische Staatsoper presents Die Walküre, the second instalment of its new Ring cycle ✨🎭

Director Tobias Kratzer and General Music Director Vladimir Jurowski continue the new Munich Ring cycle with Die Walküre, leading the Bayerisches Staatsorchester through the second part of Wagner’s epic saga 🎶

The premiere will be broadcast live on BR Klassik, with a post-performance discussion by the “Kritische Trio” available on Staatsoper.tv the following day 📺

Christina Nilsson - Soprano makes her house debut at Opernhaus Zürich as Elisabeth in Wagner’s Tannhäuser ✨🎭

The new production is directed by Thorleifur Örn Arnarsson and conducted by Tugan Sokhiev, with performances running throughout the summer season 🎶

The performance on June 27 will be broadcast live to Sechseläutenplatz as part of Opernhaus für alle, bringing the production to audiences beyond the opera house 🌟

Sandra Bendrik appears in concert at the Den Norske Opera & Ballett✨🎶

Together with this year’s WOYS singers, the Opera Orchestra, and Music Director Edward Gardner, Sandra Bendrik takes part in Love Me to Death, a concert marking the conclusion of this year’s programme 🎭

The evening features the world premieres of five newly commissioned murder ballads by some of Norway’s leading contemporary composers. Inspired by the centuries-old tradition of songs telling stories of love, desire, betrayal, and death, the new works have been written especially for the singers of the 2024–2026 WOYS programme 🎼

Music by Henrik Hellstenius, Maja S. K. Ratkje, Ørjan Matre, Rolf Gupta, and Anna Berg.

The Royal Swedish Opera pays tribute to King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia on the occasion of their Golden Wedding Jubilee with a festive gala concert ✨👑🎶

Daniel Johansson , Karl-Magnus Fredriksson , and Elin Rombo are the evening’s soloists as the celebrations begin with a wedding march, followed by beloved classics and favourites from the opera repertoire 🎭

The Royal Swedish Ballet will also take part with several dance performances, including excerpts from Alexander Ekman’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream 🩰

Together with the Royal Swedish Opera Chorus, the Royal Swedish Orchestra , and Royal Court Kapellmeister Alan Gilbert, the Royal Swedish Opera presents a golden celebration filled with music and surprises, directed by Artistic Director Tobias Theorell ✨

The concert will also be broadcast live on television, allowing audiences across Sweden to join the celebrations 📺

📀 Out today: Ein deutsches Requiem with Hanna Husáhr and Orphei Drängar ✨🎶

Recorded in Uppenbarelsekyrkan, Hägersten, in February 2026, this new recording of Brahms’ Ein deutsches Requiem features a unique setting for male choir, chamber ensemble, and soloists, conducted by Cecilia Rydinger 🎼

The recording brings together Hanna Husáhr and the acclaimed male choir Orphei Drängar in a powerful interpretation of one of the choral repertoire’s most beloved masterpieces.

Released in collaboration with Naxos and Proprius Records, the album is now available on streaming platforms worldwide 🎧
