Ha det bäst! 🌟

First time in Nashville (and the US) and this trip means a few different things to me.

First, it’s so inspiring to be in the town where so many of my favorite songs were written, and I feel so at home musically here with the town’s focus on songwriters, organic instruments and live music.

Second, I’m a person who usually avoids taking risks (especially financially) because I prefer to have things planned out waaaay ahead of time, and playing it safe. But this trip means me choosing to believe in myself and my music.

Third, it’s also a bit of a treat for myself after working really hard the last year playing lots of gigs around town to continue building my music business. I rarely take the time, and to spend money on experiences like this felt like the right timing.

So far I’ve had the opportunity to write with some really talented and kind people and listened to some great music. To finish off our fourth day here I got to hear some of my favorite songs (like of all time) be performed by the great Lori McKenna at 3rd & Lindsley. It’s hard to fully comprehend that the person in front of you wrote those songs that you’ve been listening to back at home so much.

Let’s see what Nash has in store next!

I’m a big fan of goals and resolutions. One goal I had for ’25 was to improve my playing and do a deep dive into live music. That led me to playing 49 paid gigs as a musician this year after coming home to Stockholm post-tour. I’m super proud of that work and it ended up being way over my estimated target when I sat down to write my upcoming goals a year ago. For me, that’s a big step in my progress toward becoming a working professional musician.

There were also the goals I didn’t achieve, things that I wanted really bad and worked reeeeally hard for but still didn’t make happen (this year again).

Then there were the goals I set but never really gave a proper chance, maybe because I was too scared for the outcome not to turn out the way I wanted it to.

It’s easy to get lost in the numbers, the grand goals and distant future, forgetting to stay present in the small things and everyday life. At the same time goals give us a fire and drive to keep us warm and motivated during these colder parts of the year, while looking toward sunnier seasons.

A total cliché I know, but here’s to ’26 and to celebrate the coming successes, staying humble in the face of setbacks and finding the courage to do the things that scare you the most this year.

ok diary blog peace out
