Here’s an animation we made for the game Pet Panic. With Luna the cat and Buddy the dog.
It’s short animation, and it needs to read fast and feel satisfying. We rigged and animated them in Spine, then tested and tweaked them in context until it felt the way we wanted.

Welcome to the Animation bar, 25 March, Beer n Play

It’s time to gather for another lovely evening at the Animation bar. Come and join us for a beer and maybe a set of shuffleboard, pinball, or some other games!

Welcome, all Animators, Game artists, compositors, VFX people, animation nerds, programmers, clean-up artists, voice actors, concept artists, illustrators, editors, producers, directors, background artists, layout artists...

Animation bar prices all night - 10% on beer. Remember to mention to the staff that you’re there for the animation bar when ordering. Beer n Play opens at 4 pm if you can’t wait until 6 p.m. when we start officially. 🥳

Every month we make a new poster for The Animation Bar. It started as a practical thing, but it’s become our favourite excuse to play. No client notes, no NDA, just pure “what do we feel like making right now”. This month we went full adventure movie mode. Indiana Jones energy with golden statues.

We painted the full illustration in Photoshop first, then brought it into Spine and added animation on top. Subtle FX, a bit of life in the scene, the kind of polish that makes a still image feel like a moment from a game intro.

If you’re a freelancer, or you work in 2D, games, illustration, or Spine, you probably know this feeling. You need personal projects that keep your taste sharp, your portfolio alive, and your brain excited.

❄️It always starts simple. A sketch and an idea.

These two squirrels began as loose lines on a page. No colors. No details. Just a feeling of winter and a quiet moment between characters. From there, the scene slowly took shape, one decision at a time.

We built the illustration in Photoshop, working through layers, color passes, and small adjustments that rarely get noticed on their own but matter a lot in the final image. Light, texture, balance. Making sure the scene feels warm even though it is set in winter.

Once the artwork was ready, we brought it into Spine. Rigging the characters, testing movement, refining timing. Animation is where everything either clicks or falls apart. Tiny shifts make a big difference, especially with subtle character motion.

This is the part we love most. Watching a static image turn into something alive. Seeing personality emerge through movement rather than dialogue.
