Swedish Royal Family Arrives at Skansen in Traditional Carriages
STOCKHOLM — Visitors and residents gathered along the streets of Stockholm were treated to a memorable royal spectacle as members of the Swedish Royal Family traveled in traditional horse-drawn carriages on their way to Skansen on Djurgården.
Among those taking part in the procession were Her Majesty Queen Silvia and His Majesty King Carl XVI Gustaf, accompanied by Her Royal Highness Crown Princess Victoria, His Royal Highness Prince Daniel, and Prince Oscar. The elegant carriage procession attracted significant public attention and was warmly received by spectators lining the route.
DESIGNER Magazine was on site to document this special occasion through photographs and video footage, capturing both the royal procession and the festive atmosphere surrounding the event. The images reflect not only a cherished Swedish tradition but also the strong connection between the Royal Family and the country's cultural heritage.
Skansen, the world's oldest open-air museum, remains one of Sweden's most important cultural institutions. Located on the island of Djurgården, it serves as a living showcase of Swedish history, traditions, craftsmanship, and folk culture. Royal participation in events connected to Skansen highlights the continuing importance of preserving and celebrating national heritage.
For many observers, the procession offered a rare opportunity to witness the Swedish Royal Family up close and to experience a tradition that remains an integral part of Sweden's cultural identity.
