Stockholm Pride has a grand 25-year anniversary and Petra Marklund celebrates 20 years as an artist - together we spread the message that love must win, through this year's song "Ocean of Love".

"Ocean of Love is my disco tribute to the Pride crowd and is about the ocean of love out there. And about daring to let oneself fall freely despite all the twisted circumstances. There is so much enjoyment. It is for us. Now we dive in!", says Petra Marklund.

Stockholm Pride's anniversary year with the theme "celebrate diversity" will, in addition to being a grand party, highlight both historical heroes in the fight for LGBTQ+ rights, and put a finger on today's and tomorrow's challenges for the LGBTQ+ community.

"I can't imagine a finer assignment. I feel honored and will give my heart with strings attached. Also, thanks for all the love I've received from this community over the years! I hope that everyone will feel it through the music!”, says Petra Marklund.

"We are very happy that we can collaborate on Årets Låt (Song of the Year) with one of Sweden's biggest artists, Petra Marklund. It is especially appropriate that we do it this year when Stockholm Pride turns 25 and Petra celebrates 20 years as an artist. 'Ocean of Love' is a song we think fits this year's theme of celebrating the diversity that exists in our community," says Fredrik Saweståhl, chairman of Stockholm Pride.

Ocean of Love is written by Petra Marklund, Peter Kvint, Maria Smith, John de Sohn, and Niklas Bergwall. The song will be released to all streaming platforms on [July] 28.

In addition to performing this year's song, Petra Marklund will also perform in Pride Park on Saturday, August 5 with a special anniversary number.

Charli XCX's new single, “Beg For You” featuring Rina Sawayama, is out now and samples the September classic "Cry For You"! The familiar melody is apparent throughout the song but the lyrics are completely new, and it sounds like an interesting mix of dance-pop and UK garage. 💃✨

Amongst the credited songwriters we of course find Niclas von der Burg, Anoo Bhagavan and Jonas von der Burg! 🎶

During yesterday's Idol, Petra joined contestant Jacqline Mossberg Mounkassa for a duet performance of the September classic "Cry For You"! It's the first time in almost TWELVE years since Petra performed the song on television. That's right, the last time Petra sang "Cry For You" for broadcast was during New Year's Eve in Poland back in 2009! 🤯

Here's the fabulous performance in case you missed it, or to just watch again! And last but not least... it seems Jacqline is hinting on a studio version in her latest Instagram post – we ABSOLUTELY would love to see that happen won't we?! Fingers crossed! 🤞❤️‍🔥

Petra's new album Frimärken is out now! It has a total of 10 tracks, including the songs from her Maneter EP and her 2 latest singles. The brand new songs are:
💌 "Frimärket"
🖤 "Är det så här det känns att dö"
👀 "Se mig i ögonen" featuring Moto Boy
👵 "Farmors händer"

Track 1, "Frimärket", is also the new single (as stated by Universal Music on Facebook, and it's been added to the New Music Friday Sweden Spotify playlist). The album is available digitally only, there are no plans for physical editions. Let's have a listen! ☀️💝✨

FRIMÄRKEN • New album out next week! ✨

Big news! Petra will be releasing a new album on June 11, entitled Frimärken ('stamps'). Here we have the artwork, as revealed in an interview on the show Sverige! yesterday evening on SVT1 (link below)! It has been five and a half years since Petra's latest full-length album, Ensam inte stark. And now there's only five days left to wait! 🤩

The album is produced by (at least) Petra herself and Katharina Grubmüller (who co-produced the majority of Petra's latest singles), more specific details are unknown at this point. Also the tracklisting is still a mystery and there has been no indication of physical releases yet. Let's STAY TUNED! ☀️

New song "Kärleken ska gå runt (Pantamera)" is out now! It's part of a campaign by Pantamera, a Swedish company committed to (advertising) the recycling of plastic bottles and cans. The video and song are a tribute to Mother Earth and the life that cycles around, just like bottles and cans are recycled. 🌍♻️

"Pantamera" is based on an early 1900s Cuban song titled "Guantanamera". And according to Pantamera, the planet of bottles Petra is sitting on in the video were sent straight to a Pantamera factory to be recycled into new bottles. Have a look! 🧡

💓 It's been 10 YEARS since the release of the fourth September album, Love CPR! It was highly anticipated at the time because of the international success of "Satellites", "Can't Get Over" and of course "Cry For You". Petra worked with a lot of producers and songwriters on the album and it was released digitally on Valentine's Day in 2011, with CD releases following in Scandinavia, Benelux, Poland, Czech Republic & Slovakia, Australia, the United States and even South Africa.

💎 "Resuscitate Me" was released in late 2010 as the first single off the album, but focus was quickly shifted to "Me & My Microphone", the English version of the hugely successful "Mikrofonkåt" (8x Platinum!) which Petra had performed on Swedish tv show Så mycket bättre. "Party In My Head" and "Hands Up" were released as the final singles from the album.
