Tjena alla monsterdistansdiggare, det är dags att släppa fotbollsdrönandet och peppa loss på något riktigt istället. Sverigetempot är i faggorna och kommer fylla ut VM-hålet fint efter att Skitisamma vunnit över Skitisamma nästa vecka.

Our bags are packed. Tomorrow we drive to Umeå with Refused on the stereo. For now we’re just scoping out Riksgränsen’s slopecam until we fall asleep.

This is Julius. He’s an elite long-distance runner and a decent guitarist. He's been down to Gibraltar, but never further north than Gävle. He signed up for Sverigetempot just to ride his bike in the Midnight Sun.

Sverigetempot is a randonnée style event with 12 checkpoints and a time limit of 177hrs (7 ½ days). Riders are expected to to ride their bikes for several days with minimal support. Fifty riders are registered. Some will start a day late, gunning for a good time. We’re just trying to make it to Smygehuk in one piece.
