An employee, was about to be be kicked out of a company after getting into a heated exchange while at work. Subsequently, he was arrested and jailed.
The company's manager was intending to dismiss him. Only to have been calmed and quieted by a Liberian officer who pleaded on his behalf.
The lady explains in a post, "Yesterday, one of my employees got into an altercation with a friend, which led to his arrest at the police station.
I went there, spoke with the police, and we were able to amicably resolve the issue. I was really annoyed with the employee. So, I told the police that I would have to fir£ him because I shouldn’t have to leave my busy schedule to resolve nonsense conflict.
The officer said, 'I don’t think you should fir£ him. This can serve as a warning so he stays out of trouble.'
I reluctantly agreed, but I think the officer sensed my reluctance. I am very strict about ‘good behavior’, and I like that to reflect in my employees’ conduct.
After the officer released the employee, the officer called to inform me about his release and pleaded with me not to fir£ him, explaining that life in Liberia is hard.
Two hours later, he called again, but I missed his call because I was in church.
Early this morning, the officer called once more and asked, 'How’s your manager?' I replied that he was okay. The officer then asked, 'Is he at work like you promised?' I said, 'Yes, he is.' The officer pleaded, 'Please don’t fir£ him. We all need to help these young boys stay out of the streets.'
This interaction with the officer truly warmed my heart and touched my soul. It reminded me that building Liberia isn’t just about politics, it’s also about compassion, mentorship, and lifting each other up when we stumble.
As we continue to pray for our beloved Liberia, let us remember that we all have a part to play in guiding and protecting our youth. Sometimes, what they need most is not punishment, but a second chance, and someone who believes in them." ❤️🙏🏿
