After transiting through Hong Kong, we arrived at Taiwan’s Taoyuan Airport on Friday night, just ahead of Typhoon Dolphin. 🌀
By Saturday afternoon, we could already feel the weather changing as Dolphin drew closer. The winds were picking up, accompanied by sudden, heavy downpours.
By Sunday morning, the edge of Dolphin was just north of Taoyuan Airport. The clouds were moving incredibly fast and hung surprisingly low, while the intense rain made it almost impossible to see the runway in the distance.
Despite the challenging conditions, Taoyuan Airport remained operational, with both flight and ground operations continuing as normal.
Amidst all this, I managed to capture a few shots of EVA Air’s “Jolly Jet” being towed past our hotel as she made her way to the gate on the south side of the airport. ✈️
This trip was definitely an eye-opening experience — our first time getting this close to a typhoon. Certainly an experience we won’t forget! 🌀
