Unlike the more famous St. Sophia Cathedral, Harbin Catholic Church, also known as the Church of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, is an active Catholic place of worship with deep historical roots. Built in 1906 by Polish immigrants, this Gothic-style church features pointed arches, ornate stained-glass windows, and a towering spire that stands out in Harbin’s urban landscape.

The church’s serene atmosphere offers a peaceful retreat from the bustling city. Inside, the high vaulted ceilings and religious artwork create a solemn yet uplifting ambiance. Regular Masses are held in Chinese, attracting both local parishioners and curious visitors.

While less touristy than St. Sophia, this church provides an authentic glimpse into Harbin’s Catholic heritage. The surrounding area, with its European-inspired architecture, adds to the charm. The Yangmintan Bridge in Harbin is a vital transportation link spanning the Songhua River, connecting the city's northern and southern districts. Opened to traffic in 2011, this cable-stayed bridge stretches over 4 kilometers, making it one of Harbin’s longest river crossings. Its striking design features twin diamond-shaped towers reaching 160 meters high, supporting a sleek, modern roadway that enhances the city’s skyline.

As a key part of Harbin’s infrastructure, the bridge significantly eases traffic congestion and improves connectivity between Songbei (a rapidly developing area) and the city center. Its construction also considered Harbin’s harsh winters, using durable materials to withstand freezing temperatures. At night, the bridge is illuminated with colorful LED lights, creating a dazzling display reflected on the river.

Beyond functionality, the Yangmintan Bridge has become a scenic landmark, offering panoramic views of the Songhua River and Harbin’s skyline.
