City Nomads

City Nomads The insider guide to better living. First launched in May 2012, we started out as a humble information provider for F&B events in Singapore.

Designed for folks who are curious about the world and share an appreciation for the good things in life, City Nomads is on a passionate quest to seek out the less well-trodden path in discovering the best that urban culture has to offer. The City Nomads today is a natural evolution from listings and the occasional opinion piece, to one of Singapore’s most-trusted sources of what’s happening in th

e city. In June 2016, we launched City Nomads in Bali, and are aiming to achieve significant market pe*******on in 2017. In the next five years, we’re looking to expand to more cities in Southeast Asia, in particular Bangkok, Manila, and Ho Chi Minh City. Besides these focused city guides, we will also be pursuing an editorial strategy with more international travel content.

Portugal: land of sun, surf, and… 4,719 startups.
A decade of smart policies turned this Iberian gem into a magnet for digital nomads, crypto investors, and founders chasing that elusive work-life balance. From pastel de nata to pitch decks, life looked sweet.

But in 2025, the story’s more layered.
Lisbon and Porto are grappling with rising rents, slowed visas, and a public mood that's shifting from open-armed to overextended. The innovation’s still inspiring but so is the growing need to pause, reflect, and ask: who is this paradise really for?

Tokyo’s electric pace, Kyoto’s old-world charm; but what about Nagoya? A city of quiet confidence, where industry meets culture, ramen meets rebellion, and digital nomads find a slower, smarter way to work. Affordable, well-connected, and refreshingly uncrowded. Nagoya isn’t shouting for your attention, but maybe that’s exactly why it deserves it.

You might not know Switchdance yet. But trust us, you’ll feel it when you do.

This Lisbon-based artist isn’t just about beats and drops. He’s about movement as memory, rhythm as ritual. The kind of set that doesn’t just make you dance. It makes you remember something you didn’t know you’d forgotten.

Ahead of his set at this year’s Boom Festival, we caught up to talk ancestral frequencies, artistic shifts, and why change is the only real constant.

Our Story

City Nomads is designed for those curious about the world and people who share an appreciation for the good things in life. We’re on a never ending quest to discover the best urban culture has to offer, often via the less well-trodden and invariably, more exciting paths.

Launched in May 2012 as a humble information provider for food and beverage events in Singapore, the natural evolution from listings and the occasional opinion piece to one of Singapore’s most-trusted sources of what’s happening in the city have provided us with the ability to start doing the same with other Asian cities. Besides covering food and drink, arts and culture, nightlife and entertainment in the cities we are based in, City Nomads features curated content on regional and international travel, as well as events around the world.
