I first met Philip from .co when I was looking for a custom strap to fit my wife’s slender wrist. Beyond the wide variety of leathers, what truly stood out was the level of detail and personalization he offered.

Fast forward a few straps later—after I started this watch art page—Philip reached out with an idea: to create a large-format artwork for his new studio, featuring one of his boldest strap creations yet. The strap, resembling hammered metal, was hand-crafted by .co and paired with none other than the F.P. Journe FFC.

A masterpiece in independent watchmaking, the FFC tells time through finger gestures—a mechanical hand that counts the hours. Co-created by Francis Ford Coppola and François-Paul Journe, and inspired by Ambroise Paré, it’s an incredible fusion of storytelling, innovation, and horological artistry.

A print is on the way to !

His new indie watch that’s hard to forget — the Anemoic Versailles .watches has arrived, and it’s already turning heads. It’s no wonder this caught my eye enough to put pen to paper.

At first glance, it’s the crystal that steals the show — a unique element that introduces unexpected color shifts across the dial, adding depth and atmosphere in a way that feels both futuristic and romantic.

The crystal adds mood and movement to the dial, inspired by the uniquely shaped chandelier crystal found in the Palace of Versailles!

Introducing the Red Hunter—a striking blend of vintage charm and modern mechanics. This 36mm stainless steel piece features a lacquered black sector dial that plays with light, depth, and shadow. Inside ticks the Swiss-made La Joux-Perret G100 calibre with a 68-hour power reserve and rose gold-plated rotor, visible beneath a hinged caseback.

This illustration is especially meaningful to me—Furlan Marri was one of the first brands to support eight.past.ten when I illustrated the Secular Perpetual Calendar and Bronzo Rosso back in September 2023. I’m incredibly happy to celebrate their 4th anniversary with this Red Hunter piece.

What do you think of the Red Hunter? A future classic or a bold step? Let me know below and tag a fellow watch lover.
