Key MOM Insurance Requirements for Foreign Workers
Mandatory Coverage: Minimum $60,000 annual claim limit per worker, including inpatient care and day surgery.
Enhanced Terms (Post-1 July 2023): Insurance must provide "first-dollar" coverage (insurer pays first) of at least $15,000.
Co-payment (Post-1 July 2023): For claims exceeding $15,000, employers must co-pay up to 25% of the excess amount.
Validity: Coverage must be maintained throughout the entire period of the Work Permit/S Pass validity.
Excluded Claims: Insurers are restricted to a standard list of permissible exclusions (Stage 2 effective July 1, 2025).
