Watch as aspiring a cappella groups sing off to be the spectacle as category champs! The A Cappella Championship, known dearly as the AcaChamps, is the only competition in Singapore for vocal groups locally and has gathered enough interests to have formed an International Category. The AcaChamps is not just one that awards the best, but one that encourages and hopefully, sustains a spirit of excel
lence in all participating groups (especially amongst the youths,) who will see it as a platform to launch into bigger projects locally and globally. Local groups that have made it prominently within the local a cappella scene includes Equivox (Open Category Champs 2006), Tone (College Category Champs 2005), Resonance (Open Category Champs 2011), Ave La Femme (part of Republic Polytechnic Rhapsody, College Category Champs 2011) amidst many others who have participated and actively perform in the local a cappella scene. The competition consists of 6 categories:
1. High School (Ensemble)
2. College (Ensemble)
3. Open (Ensemble)
4. International
5. Choir
6. Beat Box
The winners of our International Categories so far are Amoeba (Taiwan, 2009), Green Onion (aka Moment Singers, Taiwan; 2010), SIRENS vocal band (Taiwan, 2011), A-Five (Korea, 2012), and Lasagna (Hong Kong, 2013).
