[Glimpses of The Last Blue Forest]
We are still in awe of the magical experience at The Last Blue Forest, a groundbreaking multidisciplinary production by Brahmastra Arts House in collaboration with the Singhanagara Contemporary Orchestra. Held at the Goodman Arts Centre on November 7 and 8, this performance took us on an evocative, multisensory journey into a mythical realm, beautifully reminding us of humanity’s lost connection with nature.
A heartfelt thank you to our esteemed guests, the President of Singapore, Mr. Tharman Shanmugaratnam and Ms. Jane Ittogi for gracing the event with their presence.
Under the direction of Jeremiah Choy and conceptualised by composer Niranjan Pandian , the show transformed the stage into a living forest, blending live music, cinematic visuals, and stunning lighting. Our core ensemble featured five acclaimed soloists — Azrin Abdullah (Oud), Charmaine Teo (Harp), lndra Chen (Guzheng), Riduan Zalani (Rebana), and Niranjan Pandian on bamboo flute — crafting a rich tapestry of sound that bridged classical Indian, Middle Eastern, and contemporary genres.
We are incredibly grateful for the hard work and dedication of our creative team, including video director - Darshan Kunasagran, sound designer - Mugi Krish, and lighting designer - Alberta Wileo , who collaborated to create an intimate experience that stirred deep emotions through both sight and sound.
This concert was made possible with support from the and the stART Fund, along with sponsorship from .sg (Podi and Poriyal), Swarnabhuthi and UAV.
As we reflect on this journey, we invite you to stay connected as we work towards bringing these compositions to digital streaming platforms, and rest assured, this enchanting production will return as a live experience soon!
