Life’s been a little too hectic lately—so for my birthday, I needed a proper escape. And I found it at Dusit Thani Laguna Singapore. 🌿💆‍♂️

Tucked away in the east, this resort feels like a world away from the city, even though it’s just 15 minutes from town. Surrounded by lush greenery and endless golf course views, it was exactly the kind of peace and quiet I needed to recharge.

Woke up to birdsong and soft morning light over the fairways. No emails. No traffic. Just calm. Spent the day chilling in the room and lounging by the pool, and letting the stress melt away.

Breakfast at Greenhouse was solid with plenty of local and international fare, with a focus on Thai staples. Simple, satisfying, and full of flavour.

If you’re feeling burnt out and need a breather (or an excuse to celebrate yourself), this one’s worth checking out. They also have an amazing gym (one of the nicest I've seen in a hotel!).

Craving bold Indian flavours? Gully at Holiday Inn Singapore Little India hits the spot. This casual restaurant serves up North Indian comfort food with flair — and honestly, I wasn’t expecting the food to be this satisfying.

🔥 Butter Chicken – rich, buttery and perfectly spiced
🥩 Railway Mutton Curry – tender mutton in a nostalgic, slow-cooked gravy
🧀 Hariyali Paneer – fresh and herby, with that smoky tandoor char
🍞 And don’t skip the Naan – pillowy, crisp-edged, and great for scooping everything up

No gimmicks, just good food with deep flavours in a laid-back setting. Worth a visit if you’re around Little India! Don't forget to try one of their many cocktails too!

The Conrad Bangkok was a great retreat for us. A great balance of luxury and comfort. Cosy rooms that provide enough respite from our daily grind yet with enough amenities to cater to business when required. Great location too.

Tucked inside is their Cantonese restaurant, Liu. Fabulously decorated and the perfect ambience for our delicious weekend dim sum brunch buffet. Impressive dishes that included lobster noodles, Peking duck with foie gras, amazing fresh prawns that were really huge, and much more. Look out for the video on the food that's coming soon 😉

Bangkok is one of the most popular destinations for tourists from Singapore, Malaysia and Indonesia. The Sukhumvit area has long been a hotspot for shopping, dining, massages, tailoring and more.

Picking a hotel can be daunting with so many options available. There's plenty of choice for all travellers. For me, one of my favourite places to stay would be Skyview Hotel. It's at Sukhumvit 24 and right next to Emporium Mall and a short walk to Emsphere and EmQuartier. Their prices are really reasonable and I totally love the Executive Suite room that's huge! You get a separate living and dining area and a kitchenette! You can make simple meals and chill on the sofa after a long day. There's even a washing machine if you need to do laundry. Great for those who hit the gym a lot (the hotel has a pretty well-equipped gym too). You'll be spoiled for choice when it comes to food in Bangkok but if you're ever too tired to head out, dine at various establishments here like Prime for all day dining or the Mojjo Rooftop Bar for awesome chill city vibes. One of my favourite things about the room is the huge relaxing bathtub and the powerful rain shower (it's Grohe!).

I'm definitely coming back whenever I'm checking out new restaurants in Bangkok and this will be in my top shortlist for sure!

A Symphony of Sophistication: The Allure of 8½ Otto e Mezzo BOMBANA, Shanghai 🌟🌟

Tucked within the iconic Rockbund, 8½ Otto e Mezzo BOMBANA Shanghai isn’t just a restaurant—it’s a destination for refined palates. Holding two Michelin stars since 2017, this Italian fine dining sanctuary is led by the legendary Umberto Bombana, the King of White Truffles. In summer 2023, Executive Chef Nicoló Rotella arrived with purpose — breathing new life into Italian classics through soulful creativity and finesse.

The Roots Menu is an ode to seasonality and harmony. Each course flows like a symphony — Foie Gras with hibiscus and coriander melts into the soul, lifted by MV Henri Giraud “PR90-18” Champagne.

Tonno—bluefin tuna with fermented porcini and sour cream—sings alongside the crisp Ca’ del Bosco Franciacorta.

Capasanta, a scallop creation with morel, mirin, and truffle, pairs perfectly with the elegant Henri Boillot Meursault.

Raviolo with duck, morel, and five-spice meets its match in Justino’s 10YO Sercial from Madeira.

Spaghettini, rich with maitake, bay leaf oil, and truffle, finds harmony with aged Viña Tondonia Blanco.

Manzo, a tender Australian Wagyu kissed with chickpea and himematsutake, is unforgettable with 2006 Fiorenzo Nada Barbaresco.

Gelato—chestnut, dulcey chocolate, porcini, and raspberry—ends the night with a sweet note of Buglioni Passito Rosso.

From service to sommelier Ervin Ong’s elegant pairings, every detail is masterful. This isn’t just dinner—it’s timeless Italian artistry with a Shanghai soul. Simply unforgettable! ❤️❤️

Maison Lameloise Shanghai — French Elegance in the Sky 🌟

High on the 68th floor of Shanghai Tower, Maison Lameloise brings the soul of Burgundy to China. This Michelin one-starred gem is the outpost of the iconic three-star Maison Lameloise in Chagny, France. Led by Chef Éric Pras, Meilleur Ouvrier de France, Restaurant Director Kevin Chatain, and Head Sommelier Kitty Lao, the Spring 2025 tasting menu is a masterclass in French gastronomy and wine pairing.

We began with Bluefin Tuna Rillette, paired with green asparagus salad and cardamom nectar, matched with Lameloise Crémant de Bourgogne Blanc de Blancs.

Strawberry & Foie Gras Terrine came next — with corn, sour white asparagus, and quinoa salad — beautifully balanced by the 2023 Ferme Saint-Martin ‘Carlina’ Côtes du Rhône.

Sweet Peas & Morel featured squid-morel cake, sweet peas stew, and a mushrooms & herbs soup, paired with a 2021 Albert Boxler Pinot Blanc.

Seared Langoustine with tomato art tatin and verbena tomato broth found harmony with the 2021 Faiveley Bourgogne Chardonnay.

Sunflower Chicken Galantine with crawfish, fava beans, and a lemongrass fleurette sauce was elevated by a 2021 Bellivière ‘Les Rosiers’ Jasnières Chenin Blanc.

Hay-Smoked Pigeon Breast with cauliflower, pistachio, and blackberry jus paired perfectly with the 2020 Liger-Belair Moulin-à-Vent Gamay.

Roasted Beef Tenderloin & Caviar, with seaweed-potato roll, spring cabbage, and brown butter sabayon, was bold with the 2015 Bénetière Côte-Rôtie Syrah.

Desserts: Cherry & Almond with amaretto cherry juice; Chocolate & Mint parfait with sabayon; and flambéed Crêpes Suzette with Grand Marnier, served with Mas Amiel 45 and artisanal cheese.

With flawless service by both Kevin and Kitty, and breathtaking skyline views, Maison Lameloise is a celestial celebration of French culinary art. One of the best meals we've enjoyed!

VIVANT by Johnny Pham — Where French Precision Meets Vietnamese Soul 🌟🌟🌟

Trained in Lyon at 14 under M*F chef Gérard Vignat, Chef Johnny’s career spans Michelin-starred icons — from Sofitel Lyon to Cheval Blanc (Courchevel & Saint Tropez) and Paris’s Pavillon Ledoyen. As Executive Chef at TRB Beijing, he led the team to TripAdvisor’s #1 Fine Dining Restaurant in the World. In Shanghai, he elevated Taian Table from 1 to 3 Michelin stars. Today, his passion thrives at VIVANT that just opened months ago.

We began with refined canapés, leading to Phamily Pho — a soul-warming, crystal-clear beef consommé that embodies comfort with elegance. The Aji with Plum & Horseradish refreshed the palate with bright acidity and depth. “Banh Xeo” Langoustine with Guanciale delivered a luxurious play on texture and memory — crispy, silky, and indulgent.

Smoking Spring arrived with drama — smoked eel, asparagus, and ikura in perfect balance. Then came the showstopper: Unisotto, a risotto made entirely from uni — no cream, just pure umami and silk. Perfection!

The decadence continued with King Crab, elevated by morel, vin jaune, and white asparagus. The Brittany Queen followed — a flawlessly cooked blue lobster with sweet peas and coral, rich yet clean.

“Qingyuan” Taste of Sunday evoked home — tender chicken paired with delicately seasoned rice. 2 Ways 1 Cut showcased shortribs done two ways, one boldly paired with Chef’s signature Big Pham sauce.

Dessert was a dream: Profitelove — a melting trio of Vietnamese chocolate, vanilla, and soufflé — and Dandong Jewels, a refreshing finale of strawberry, tonka, and yogurt.

An experience worth travelling for! ❤️❤️❤️

From Paris to Shanghai — ÖRTENSIA’s Elegant Evolution

Straight from the quiet elegance of rue Beethoven in Paris, Michelin-starred ÖRTENSIA, helmed by Chef Terumitsu Saito, opens its first international outpost in Shanghai, bringing a poetic expression of French-Japanese gastronomy to life.⁣

We had the pleasure of experiencing the Ingenuity Menu | Winter 2025, where each dish unfolded like a chapter in a love letter to flavour, technique, and harmony.⁣

The journey began with a trio of amuse-bouches, teasing the palate with restrained brilliance. The Cauliflower Panna Cotta with Sea Urchin was silky and subtly earthy, balanced by the briny sweetness of uni.⁣

The Charcoal Chicken Wing surprised with its crisp skin and juicy center, infused with hints of smoke and shoyu.⁣

The Signature Beef Tartare brought layered umami and delicate acidity—bold yet exquisitely refined.⁣

Then, pure decadence: Foie Gras, Abalone & 10-Year Caviar—rich, decadent, and deeply luxurious.⁣

The Russian King Crab was succulent and sweet, elevated by subtle citrus and herbs.⁣

The Truffle Scallop Tempura was ethereal—crispy outside, tender within, with an earthy truffle note that lingered.⁣

The Blue Lobster was perfectly poached, buttery and elegant.⁣ Loved this!

Pigeon & Eel—perhaps the boldest pairing—was a soulful, smoky harmony of land and sea.⁣

Then the crescendo: Saikyoyaki A4 Wagyu Sirloin, grilled to melt-in-your-mouth perfection, lending a gentle sweetness that lingered luxuriously.⁣

Desserts were a study in contrast:
Mille-Feuille Soy & Vanilla—creamy with a nutty edge.
Strawberry & Geranium—floral, bright, and refreshing.⁣

At ÖRTENSIA Shanghai, each dish is crafted with intention and emotion—rooted in culture, finished with grace.⁣

This isn’t just dining. It’s a symphony of the senses.⁣
