Be forgiving. Be understanding.

But do not be a fool.

BE. GRATEFUL.

I know I am not yet where I want to be, i know it will come. But I am grateful I am not where I used to be.

Nobody tells this to people who are beginners. I wish someone had told me. All of us who do creative work, we get into it because we have good taste. But there is this gap. For the first couple years you make stuff, it’s just not that good. It’s trying to be good, it has potential, but it’s not. But your taste, the thing that got you into the game, is still killer. And your taste is why your work disappoints you.

A lot of people never get past this phase; they quit.

Most people I know who do interesting, creative work went through years of this. We know our work doesn’t have this special thing that we want it to have. We all go through this. And if you are just starting out or you are still in this phase, you gotta know that it’s normal and the most important thing you can do is do a lot of work. Put yourself on a deadline so that every week you finish one piece. It’s only by going through a volume of work that you will close that gap, and your work will be as good as your ambitions. And I took longer to figure out how to do this than anyone I’ve ever met.

It’s gonna take a while. It’s normal to take awhile. You just gotta fight your way through.

Building boundaries and establishing clear communication channels with yourself can be as crucial as doing so with others. It involves self-awareness, understanding personal limits, and respecting them.

Setting boundaries with oneself might include allocating time for rest, defining personal values, and recognizing when to say no to excessive commitments or negative self-talk.

Establishing communication channels with oneself involves introspection, journaling, and mindfulness practices to understand thoughts, emotions, and needs effectively.

It's a vital aspect of self-care and personal growth.

DAY 84: "Practice effective communication; clarity and understanding foster stronger connections."

Effective communication is an art, a skill that takes time and practice to master. It is the ability to convey your thoughts and feelings in a clear, concise, and respectful way, while also listening attentively to the other person and striving to understand their perspective.

When communication is effective, it builds bridges between people, dissolving misunderstandings and fostering trust.

Effective communication is not just about speaking. It is also about truly listening. When you listen attentively, you are not simply waiting for your turn to talk. You are actively paying attention to what the other person is saying, both verbally and nonverbally. You are seeking to understand their thoughts and feelings, even if you don't agree with them.

Effective communication is also about empathy. Empathy is the ability to put yourself in someone else's shoes and see the world from their perspective. When you are empathetic, you are more likely to be understanding and compassionate. You are also more likely to be able to communicate in a way that resonates with the other person.

Finally, effective communication is about articulating your thoughts with precision. This means using clear and concise language and avoiding jargon and ambiguity. It also means being mindful of your tone of voice and body language. When you communicate effectively, your message is more likely to be understood and appreciated by the other person.

DAY 83: "Develop your creativity; engage in activities that allow your imagination to thrive."

Creativity is not just about creating art or music. It is about using our imaginations to solve problems, to think critically, and to come up with new ideas.

Creativity is a source of great joy and satisfaction. When we create something new, we feel a sense of accomplishment and pride. We also connect with our inner selves on a deeper level and gain insights into our own thoughts and feelings.

"Creativity is intelligence having fun." - Albert Einstein

DAY 82: "Strive for work-life integration, finding harmony between your personal and professional life."

Work-life integration is not about sacrificing one aspect of our lives for the other. Instead, it is about finding a balance that allows us to thrive in all areas. This may mean taking some time off work to attend a child's school event, or working remotely from home so that we can spend more time with our loved ones. It may also mean taking on projects that are aligned with our personal values or finding a workplace that offers a supportive and flexible culture.

Work-life integration is also about building strong relationships. When you are able to spend time with the people who are important to you, both at work and in your personal life, you create a support system that can help you to overcome challenges and achieve your goals.

"Don't confuse having a career with having a life." - Hillary Clinton

DAY 81 "Practice mindfulness; be fully present and engage in the moment."

Mindfulness is the practice of paying attention to the present moment without judgment. It is a simple but powerful practice that can help us reduce stress, improve our mood, and increase our focus and concentration.

When we are mindful, we are fully aware of our thoughts, feelings, and bodily sensations. We are also aware of our surroundings and the people we are with. We do this without judgment, simply observing our experience as it is.

"Life is a dance. Mindfulness is witnessing that dance." - Amit Ray

DAY 80: "Be consistent and dedicated. It leads to long-term success".

Consistency is about showing up for yourself, even when you don't feel like it. It's about putting in the work, even when it's hard. It's about making progress, even if it's small.

Dedication is about being committed to your goals, even when it's challenging. It's about persevering in the face of setbacks. It's about believing in yourself, even when others don't.

When you combine consistency and dedication, you become unstoppable. You create an unstoppable force that can propel you to achieve anything you set your mind to.

"Success is not final; failure is not fatal: It is the courage to continue that counts." - Winston Churchill
