Scam Alert!

Beware of government impersonation scam happening in Singapore.

[โ€ผ๏ธ Scam Alert : Impersonation of MinLaw Officers]

I am deeply concerned by recent reports of scammers impersonating officers from the Ministry of Law, Singapore. These individuals have gone to great lengths to deceive members of the public - using local phone numbers, fake names, doctored staff passes, and forged documents sent via WhatsApp to appear credible.

We take a very serious view of such acts.

I urge everyone to stay vigilant. If you receive a suspicious call or message claiming to be from MinLaw, hang up immediately and report it to the Police. The Singapore Police Force is actively investigating these cases and will not hesitate to take firm action against anyone who impersonates public officers and preys on unsuspecting victims.

We will do everything we can to bring those responsible to justice.

If you receive a video call from someone dressed in a police uniform claiming to be officers from the Singapore Police Force (SPF), do not fall for it. Scammers are using such calls to allege that there are problems with your bank accounts and that you are under investigation.

They will attempt to pressure you into revealing your personal information, banking credentials, and One-Time Passwords (OTP) under the pretext of verification or investigation. This is a scam.

Remember: The SPF will never ask for your banking details or OTP over the phone or via video call.
