Hi all my ,
I want to share something deeply painful that has left me feeling lost and betrayed. Maybe by sharing this, I can help someone avoid the mistake I made.
I quit my stable, full-time job because I trusted someone I considered a friend. He convinced me to take up a freelance role with his company, doing live streams and helping to sell their skincare products. I worked hard, believing in his words and the company’s potential. After a while, they told me they needed someone full-time, and I was excited to join them as an employee.
I gave up everything for this opportunity. I resigned from my full-time job in October 2024 because I believed in their promise to hire me. They even told me they were going to Korea to source new products and would update me when they returned with details about my full-time role. But after they came back, there was only silence. Days turned into weeks, and still, no word.
I kept hoping and waiting, thinking they were busy. But deep down, I started to feel something wasn’t right. So, I reached out to them. The reply I got shattered me:
They said the company wasn’t making a profit, and the so-called “little boss,” my friend, had already moved on and found another job to support his family. That was it. No apology, no explanation—just an excuse about how life goes on.
I had given them my trust, my time, my effort, and my career. And in return, I was left with nothing. What hurts the most is that this wasn’t just some stranger—it was a friend. Someone I believed in, someone I thought cared about me.
Now, I’m left picking up the pieces of my life, wondering why I trusted so blindly.
Lesson learned: Never trust anyone fully, even people you consider friends. Protect yourself, your career, and your future because, in the end, you can only truly rely on yourself.
To everyone reading this: Be cautious. Don’t make the same mistake I did.
