Singapore's birthday is just around the corner! To celebrate 60 years of our nation's complexity and brilliance, Momo Film Co has worked with Marina Bay Sands on “Nothing Comes By Chance"— a short film by Kirsten Tan, written by Amanda Lee Koe, and featuring Singapore's biggest and upcoming stars.

This is our love letter, an ode and a reflection on Marina Bay Sands’ journey with Singapore, shaped by imagination, resilience, transformation, and unshakable optimism.

A Useful Ghost will have its world premiere at Cannes Critics Week (SEMAINE DE LA CRITIQUE) 2025!

Congratulations and co-production partners!

The film tells the story of March, who is mourning his wife Nat after she dies due to dust pollution. When he discovers that her spirit has unexpectedly returned in the form of a vacuum cleaner, he embarrasses it and the pair form an unconventional human-ghost love story.

But March’s family, which has seen their factory turned upside down by the ghost of a former employee, rejects the relationship. Eager to convince the family of her and March’s love, Nat sets off to become a useful ghost and offers to cleanse the
factory.

A Useful Ghost is a co-production between Thailand, Singapore, and France, supported by grants including Singapore’s Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA) and the Locarno Film Festival’s Open Doors Award.

Momo Film Co., alongside 185 Films and Haut Les Mains, contributed to the project’s development, reinforcing its commitment to elevating Southeast Asian voices in global cinema.

A new exciting project has dropped at ATF! Beach House Pictures has teamed up with Anh Teu Studio to produce the film adaptation of Vũ Trọng Phụng’s 1936 novel Dumb Luck, highly regarded as the most popular novel of 20th century Vietnam.

Set in 1930s Vietnam, this film follows the implausible and hilarious adventures of Red-Haired Xuân, an unscrupulous vagrant, as he rises from poverty to the top of society and becomes revered as the poster child of the country's Europeanization movement.

We can't wait for it to hit the screen soon!

Huge news to kick off the eve of ATF... We officially announce the development of Red Butterfly, a co-production with STUDIOCANAL and Momo Film Co. Co-created by Hong-Kong born Constance Cheng (Hulu’s The Great, Amazon’s Rings of Power), co-written by Kris Ong (Ajooma), and fight choreography by Martial Club (Everything Everywhere All At Once), Red Butterfly is an explosive and stylish all-female gang crime drama set in 1950s Singapore.

This exciting collaboration is a great representation of Beach House’s ambition to tell amazing stories inspired by Asia and seen by the world, and we can't wait for Red Butterfly to hit the screen.

This award, given by National Arts Council Singapore, honours artists aged 35 and below for their impact on the community and how they continue to be inspiring role models who shape Singapore’s arts and culture.
