🌹Guide to Hizbul Wiqayah🌹

Bismi Llāhi r-Raḥmāni r-Raḥīm

Mawlana Shaykh Nazimق would begin the month of Safar with the recitation of Hizbul Wiqayah, and we are strongly encouraged to do so tonight.

During a live session some years ago, Shaykh Bahauddinق shared that this du'a is part of his daily practice and granted permission for all who wish to recite it.

This powerful du’a is known to be a means of drawing closer to the station of Wilayah (Sainthood), and holds many secrets and benefits.

May we all strive to include Hizbul Wiqayah into our daily recitations, especially in this spiritually heavy month of Safar.

May it be a source of benefit and protection for all, and may it ease the weight of the days ahead.

More on this du’a can be found below, along with links to various versions of it:

🌹14th Muharram - Blessed Birth of Mawlana Sheikh Baha’uddin Shah Naqshbandق

Bismi Llāhi r-Raḥmāni r-Raḥīm

“Grandsheikh Shah Naqshbandق said that four times a year, the Barakah that comes upon him reaches all his mureeds.

So it is something very special for us, the followers of Shah Naqshbandق, to seek the blessings that descend upon him.

Mawlanaق said that so exalted is the status of Shah Naqshbandق that of the seven Jannahs in the skies, when we return to Allah on the Day of Judgment, as far as his eyes can reach on Yawm al-Qiyamah, that entire group of people will be under his Shafa'ah (intercession).

According to Mawlana Sheikh Nazimق, through the intercession of Shah Naqshbandق alone, four of the seven Jannahs will be filled. We are the followers of Shah Naqshbandق in the Naqshbandi Way, chosen by Allah.

We are nothing great, so do not be proud. In reality, we are among the worst of people.

It is said that on the Day of Promises, all the Saints chose their followers, and from the group of people that was left behind, the Naqshbandi Saints took them and trained us all.

So we must be deeply grateful to Allah, for Shah Naqshbandق made this Du'a before Allah gave him this Way.

He said, “I wish for a way that is the easiest for my people, for my mureeds. The easiest and shortest way for them to reach the Divine Presence.”

Syukur to Allah, that He has placed us together on this journey, to seek companionship with Great Saints.“

🌹 Upcoming Dates To Note (Muharram)

Bismi Llāhi r-Raḥmāni r-Raḥīm

Below are some important dates to note for the month of Muharram:

⭐️ Blessed Birth of Imamul Tariqah, Mawlana Shaykh Baha’uddin Shah Naqshbandق

The 14th of Muharram marks the blessed birth of Shaykh Baha’uddin Shah Naqshbandق, the 17th Grandshaykh of the Naqshbandi Golden Chain.

As followers of this Way, it is important for us to commemorate his birth and seek his shafa’ah on the eve of his birthday.

We are highly encouraged to dedicate and gift him recitations of Khatam Khwajagan, Zikir, Mawlid, Surah Yasin and Al-Fatiha and make abundant du’as on this special night.

The night of 14th Muharram will begin after Maghrib on Wednesday, in Singapore.

For those following Mawlanaق’s calendar, it will be tonight.

Read an excerpt of hisق Saintly life here: https://tinyurl.com/Shahnaqshband

⭐️ The White Days of Muharram

Tomorrow, Thursday and Friday (9th to 11th July) correspond to the 13th to 15th of Muharram.

These days are known as the White Days, during which it is Sunnah to fast.

This practice began with Sayyidina Adam (AS). When he started eating from the food of this world, his skin darkened compared to its brightness in Jannah.

He asked Sayyidina Jibril (AS) how to clear this darkness, and he was taught to fast these three days every month.

⭐️ Suitable Dates for Cupping in Muharram

If you wish to do cupping (hijamah or bekam) this month, the recommended dates are:

✅ Tuesday, 15th July (19th Muharram)
✅ Thursday, 17th July (21st Muharram)

Cupping is a cure for many illnesses and an important Sunnah to practice. Doing it once a year is sufficient for those in good health.

Important: Never do cupping on Wednesdays or Saturdays, as this brings more harm than benefit according to a hadeeth.

⭐️ Special Khatam Khwajagan this week

We will be celebrating the blessed birthday of Shaykh Baha’uddin Shah Naqshbandق with a special gathering at our Zawiyah (A’Posh Bizhub Singapore) this Friday.

Gathering will begin with Isha Prayers at 8:30 pm, followed by Mawlid and Khatam Khwajagan.

Zikir will be led by one of the newly appointed Wakil (representative) of Mawlanaق in Singapore, Sidi Ismail Daim San.

All are welcome to join us.

📿 If you wish to join us virtually, the gathering will begin at 8:45 pm SGT on 11th July.

🌹 10 Muharram 1195 H / 1781 CE
Passing (Urs) of Maulana Shaykh (Mazhar) Shamsuddin Habib Allah ق

He was born in 1113 H./1701 AD in India. From his childhood the light of Guidance and the Traces of Piety shone from his forehead. His features (mazhar) were molded with the Manifestation of heavenly beauty (tajalli-l-jamal). He was famous, like the Prophet Yusuf salla, for his beauty, and everyone loved him because he represented beauty. That is the attribute of God, about whom the Prophet salla said: “God is beautiful and he loves beauty.” He had innumerable miraculous experiences and numberless visions about the Heavenly world as well as the lower world.

Once he said, “One time I visited the grave of Shaykh Muhammad Hafiz Muhsin. I disappeared from myself and in a vision I saw his body. It had suffered no decomposition, and his shroud was still perfectly clean except for a patch of dirt on one part by his feet. Through my spiritual power, I asked him about that. He said, ‘O my son I will tell you a story. One day I took a stone from the garden of my neighbor and put it in a hole in my garden, and I said to myself, ‘in the morning I will return it to him,’ but I forgot. As a result of that action, the dirt has appeared on my shroud. That one action has tainted my shroud.’”

A man came to him and said, “O my master, my brother has been jailed in another village. Please pray to Allah to save him.” He said, “O my son, your brother has not been jailed, but he has done something wrong and tomorrow you will receive a letter from him.” It turned out to be just as he described.

He informed his followers of great tidings and some jealous people refused to accept what he said. He said, “If you don’t believe me let us bring a judge. We will each tell him our point of view and let him judge between us.” They said “We don’t accept any judge except the Prophet salla, and on Judgment Day we will ask for his judgement in this matter.” Then he said, “There is no need to wait until the Judgment Day. We will ask the Prophet salla to give his Judgment now.” He entered a deep state of contemplation in his heart and was told to read the Fatiha. This he did, and immediately the Prophet salla appeared to everyone and said, “Al-Mazhar Habibullah is right and all of you are wrong.”

Shortly before his death Shaykh Mazhar ق was in a state of great emotion and intense love of God. He experienced a great unhappiness at having spent so long in this transient world. He spent his last days in intense contemplation and, when asked, he would always say that his state was that of Annihilation and Existence in Allah Sublime and Exalted. He increased his dhikr in his final days, and as a result of the intense light of attraction generated thereby, thousands and thousand of seekers entered into the tariqat. Each new day would bring three thousand new people to his door, and he would not let one of them go without meeting him. Finally, he became so exhausted that he scheduled only two times a day to meet with people.

One day, one of his followers, Shaykh Mullah Nasim, asked permission to travel and visit his parents in his homeland. He said, “My son, if you want to go you may, but I may not be here when you return.” This reply went from one mouth to another, shaking the hearts of people, as it indicated that his era was ending. With tearful eyes, and broken hearts, people all around the Punjab began wailing and crying. His house was full and no one knew what was going to happen when he was gone. Then he took a paper and wrote to one of his successors, Mullah Abdur-Razzaq, “O my son, I am now over eighty and my life is coming to its close. Remember me in your prayers.” He sent him that letter and he sent many others the same letter.

Thanking Allah for His Favours he said, “There is nothing left in my heart of anything that I have wished to achieve or to reach that remains to be accomplished. There is nothing for which I have asked Allah that I did not receive. My only remaining desire is to leave this world and be in His Presence continuously. Allah gave me everything, except permission to go to Him. I am asking Allah to take me to Him today, before tomorrow. But I don’t want to go to Him as an ordinary person. I want to go to him, as Allah described in the Holy Qur’an, as a martyr who is always alive. So, O Allah, make me a martyr in this world and take me to you as a martyr. This kind of death will bring happiness to my heart and will cause me to be in the presence of Your Prophet salla and of Ibrahim salla and of Musa salla, and with all your 124,000 prophets; and to be with all the Companions of the Prophet, and to be with al-Junayd (q) and the master of this Order, Shah Naqshband (q), and with all the masters of the Tariqat. O Allah, I want to combine the witnessing of physical martyrdom with spiritual death in the State of Witnessing, in the State of Annihilation.”

It was Wednesday evening, the seventh of Muharram, of the year 1195 H/1780 CE. His servant came to him and said, “There are three men at your door. They want to visit you.” He said, “Let them enter.” When they entered, he came out of his bedroom and greeted them. One of them said to him, “Are you Mirza Jan Janan Habibullah?” He answered, “Yes.” The two said to the third, “Yes, he is the one.” One of the men took a knife from his pocket and stabbed him in the back, piercing his kidney. Because of his age, he was unable to withstand the severity of the blow and he fell to the ground. When it was time for the Fajr prayer, the King sent him a doctor. He sent back the doctor and said, “I don’t need him. As for the men who stabbed me, I forgive them, because I am glad to die as a martyr and they came as an answer to my prayer.”

He passed from this life on Friday. When the day reached its middle, he read the Quranic chapters Fatiha and Ya Sin until 'Asr time. He asked his followers, how many hours were left until sunset. They told him, “Four hours.” He said, “It is still long until the meeting with my Lord.” He said, “I have missed ten prayers in my life, all in these past two days, because my body is full of blood and I have been unable to raise my head.” They asked him, “If a sick person is in such a weak condition, is he obliged to pray with movements of his eyes and his forehead or to postpone his prayer?” He answered, “Both ways are correct.” He waited with patience for the sunset, and he died. It was the night of 'Ashura, 1195 H./1781 AD.

Al Fatiha.

🌹Guide to Ashura🌹

Bismi Llāhi r-Raḥmāni r-Raḥīm

InsyaAllah, the eve of Ashura will fall tomorrow, 5th July, in Singapore.

In his Sohbah, Mawlana Sheikh Nazimق said that this is one of the holiest nights in Islam. It holds a special place in the Islamic calendar and in the history of the world.

On this blessed day, Allah Almighty granted victory to His beloved servants from His Endless Oceans of Mercy and Power.

We are strongly encouraged to fast, increase our worship, and multiply good deeds on this day.

Make Du'a fervently for yourself, your loved ones, the Ummah of Rasulullah ﷺ and our Shuyukh.

🕌 Eve of Ashura (5th July)

Mawlana Sheikh Muhammadق advised us to fast either on the 9th and 10th, or the 10th and 11th of Muharram. The best is to fast from the 9th to the 11th of Muharram.

After Asar, about an hour before Maghrib, do recite the holy names of the Martyrs of Karbala. Connecting to them for their Madad and Himmah.

We are encouraged to stay up for night vigil as it is the night of Ashura (5th July after Maghrib)

🕌 Day of Ashura (6th July)

Recommended worship and devotions:

1️⃣ Fasting
2️⃣ Taking full ablution (with the intention of good health), applying Kohl to the eyes, buying provisions for the home
3️⃣ Recite Surah Al-Ikhlas - 1,000 times
4️⃣ Solat Sunnat Ashura, a 4 raka'at Sunnah prayer done between Zuhur and Asar
5️⃣ Recite Du'a Ashura anytime between sunrise and sunset

04/06/2025

🌹Duties of the Day of Arafah🌹

Bismi Llāhi r-Raḥmāni r-Raḥīm

Tomorrow, Thursday 5th June 2025, is the 9th of Dhul Hijjah and one of the holiest days in the Islamic calendar. It is the Day of Arafah, following the Meccan calendar.

The Prophet ﷺ said:
“There is no day on which Allah frees more people from the Fire than the Day of Arafah.” (Sahih Muslim)

On this day, Allah draws near, forgives His servants, and proudly mentions them to his angels, even those not physically present in Arafah.

It is a day overflowing with mercy, reward and forgiveness.

Recommended actions on this day:

🕋 Fasting (for those not performing Hajj)

Fasting on this day erases the sins of the previous year and the year to come. Remember fasting means that your tongue, eyes, and all organs, must fast too, especially your heart.

In her Sohbah yesterday, Hjh Rukiye spoke about the immense reward of this fast, which has been likened to fasting for 10,000 days or even two years. She shared that each person who fasts receives the reward of everyone who fasted, as well as those who should have fasted.

And on Judgement Day, 70,000 angels will accompany those who observed this fast.

🕋 Spending the day in Worship

In addition to our daily Adab, Awrad, and Qur'an recitation and reflection, it is recommended to recite the full Hizbul Azam on this day. Both the complete and abridged versions are available on our SufiHub website.

Between Zuhur and Asar, we are encouraged to pray Solatul Arafah — a four rakaat Sunnah prayer with the intention that Allah forgives the pilgrims and includes us in their du‘as.

It is also the night preceding Eid al-Adha, a night the Prophet ﷺ would spend in worship and would not sleep. This blessed night is a time of divine mercy, when sincere prayers are accepted by Allah. It is one of the five sacred nights during which du‘as are not rejected.

The Prophet ﷺ is reported to have said:
"Whoever stands in worship during the nights preceding the two Eids, seeking reward from his Lord, his heart will not die on the Day when hearts will die."
(Ibn Majah)

🕋 Making Heartfelt Du‘as

This is one of the best times for supplication, especially during Wuquf (standing at Arafah), which is from 12:19 pm to 7:01 pm Mecca time. In Singapore, that is 5:19 pm to 12:01 am.

Make du‘a for yourself, your family, and your loved ones.

One of the du'as to be recited abundantly on 9th and 10th Dhul Hijjah (as taught by Hjh Rukiye), “Rabbana atina fid dunya hasanatan wa fil akhirati hasanatan waqina adhaban nar.”

Ask Allah to accept you as one of the Ḥujjāj (pilgrims).

Pray for those who have requested your du‘as.

Pray for the safety and peace of the Ummah of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ.

Pray for the appearance of Sayyidina al-Mahdī ʿalayhi’s-salām.

🕋 Engaging in Dhikr (remembrance of Allah ﷻ)

Takbir: Allahu Akbar (Allah is the Greatest)

Tahlil: La ilaha illallah (There is no god but Allah)

Tahmid: Alhamdulillah (All praise is due to Allah)

Tasbih: Subhanallah (Glory be to Allah)

Abdullah ibn ‘Umar (ra) reported that the Prophet ﷺ said: “There are no days greater in the sight of Allah and in which righteous deeds are more beloved to Him, so during this time recite a great deal of Tahlil (“La ilaaha ill-Allah”), Takbeer and Tahmeed.”

🕋 Turning to Allah ﷻ in Sincere Repentance

In his Sohbah, Mawlanaق reminded us that sins weigh heavily on both our bodies and our souls. Every time we do something wrong, knowingly or unknowingly, it adds to that burden.

The Prophet ﷺ taught us to keep asking for forgiveness, saying Astaghfirullah, again and again. Allah, in His mercy, forgives — so we should ask as much as we can.

This is a precious opportunity to seek forgiveness for both the sins we are aware of and those we may not even realize.

🕋 Takbir of Tashreeq

From the Fajr prayer on the 9th of Dhul Hijjah until the Asar prayer on the 13th of Dhul Hijjah, it is obligatory for every Muslim to recite the Takbir of Tashreeq after each obligatory (Fard) prayer. The Takbir is recited as follows:

“Allahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar, La Ilaha Illallahu, Wallahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar wa lillahilhamd.”

"There is no God but Allah and Allah is the greatest, Allah is the greatest and to Allah belongs all praise."

🕋 Keep Excellent Character

Engage wholeheartedly in worship and righteous deeds, such as increasing acts of charity, multiplying good actions, and maintaining family ties.

Avoid idle talk, arguments, and disputes, for these detract from the spirit of this blessed day.

Good character and sincere deeds are beloved to Allah and carry immense reward, especially in this sacred time.

Let us strive to emerge from this day purified, renewed, and closer to Him.

May Allah ﷻ accept our fasts, prayers, and du’as, and grant us His infinite mercy and forgiveness. And may He grant us the honour and blessing of being spiritually at Hajj, insyaAllah.

Ameen. 💚
