Short Biography of Ajahn Khong Piyathammo

Ajahn Khong Piyathammo began studying sacred arts from childhood under his father, Pol.Sgt.Maj. Teerayut Sutthasilp, inheriting his family’s Khmer-Isan occult lineage. He became fluent in Khmer and ancient scripts such as Khmer characters, Isan Dhamma, and Tai Noi at a young age.

As a novice, he trained under Luang Pu Phra Kru Phromsenasin of Wat Klang, mastering yantra writing, sacred numerology, “diamond armor” protection, auspicious timings, and many other esoteric sciences. He later continued his studies with Luang Pu Boonta Thawaro of Wat Sunantharaj, who taught him Tao Ruen lore, herbal medicine, and advanced mantra systems.

From age 15, Ajahn Khong became skilled enough to practice as a sak yant master. He studied with many renowned teachers including Ajarn Kaew and Pho Khama Hongthong, who loved him deeply and even adopted him as a foster son, earning him the nickname “son of Pho Yai Jarn.”

After ordination at Wat Sunantharaj, Ajahn Khong expanded his knowledge across multiple traditions—Isan, Khmer, Burmese, Islamic, Brahmanic, and spirit magic. He studied astrology, charm magic, invincibility sciences, takrut creation, sacred powders, wax consecration, and advanced protective rituals from more than 50 masters throughout Thailand, Laos, and Cambodia.

He also inherited and researched hundreds of ancient manuscripts from various revered Isan masters, making him one of the rare monks with deep knowledge spanning many generations and lineages. For Ajahn Khong, sacred knowledge is not only a practice—it is a lifelong calling that has shaped his entire life.
