Victoria Street မှာ ရှိတဲ့၊ စင်္ကာပူရဲ့ အကြီးဆုံး စာကြည့်တိုက်မှာ စာအုပ်သွားဌားကြည့်ရအောင်နော်……
မနက် ၁၀ နာရီကနေ ည ၉ နာရီအထိ ဖွင့်ပြီး၊ Library ဟာ public free access ဖြစ်ပါတယ်။ ဒါပေမယ့် စာအုပ်ဌားချင်တယ်ဆိုရင်တော့၊ membership account ပြုလုပ်ရမှာဖြစ်ပါတယ်။ membership ဟာ စလုံးနိုင်ငံသားတွေအတွက် free ဖြစ်သော်လဲ၊ PR တွေအတွက် တနှစ်ကို ၁၀$ နဲ့ foreigners တွေအတွက် တနှစ်ကို မန်ဘာကြေး ၅၀$ ခန့် ကျသင့်မှာဖြစ်ပါတယ်။ Membership ကို online မှာ SingPass သုံးပြီး အလွယ်တတူ sign up လုပ်လို့ရသလို၊ library ကိုသွားပြီး physical membership လဲ လုပ်လို့ရပါတယ်။ ဒီ central library မှ မဟုတ်ဘူး.. စလုံးမှာ ရှိတဲ့ National library board လက်အောက်က နီးစပ်ရာ စာကြည့်တိုက်တွေမှာ သွားရောက်ဖတ်ရှူ့ လို့ရပါတယ်။
စလုံးမှာရှိတဲ့ စာကြည့်တိုက်တွေဟာ.. online မှာတင် စာအုပ်ဌားလို့ရပြီ doorstep service နဲ့ အ်ိမ်အရောက်ပို့ပေးပါတယ်နော်.. ပို့ခ ၁၀$ ခန့်ကျသင့်ပြီး၊ နီးစပ်ရာ library က bookdrop machine တွေမှာ ပြန်အပ်လို့ရပါတယ်။ တကယ်လို့ ကိုယ်ဖတ်ချင်တဲ့ စာအုပ်တွေရှိရင် တခါတည်း list down လုပ်ခဲ့ပါနော်။ library ကိုရောက်ရင်.. system ထဲမှာ စာအုပ်နာမည်နဲ့ ရှာပြီး ဘယ်ကောင်တာမှာရှိတယ်ဆိုတာကို system က ပြောပြပေးပါလိမ့်မယ်။ ရှာရတာ ခက်နေရင် စာကြည့်တိုက်ဝန်ထမ်းတွေကို မေးလို့ရပါတယ်နော်။ တခါဌားရင် ၁၆ အုပ်အများဆုံးရပြီ၊ ၂၁ ရက်တိတိ ဌားလို့ရပါတယ်။ ပြီးရင်တော့ နောက်ထပ်် ၂၁ ရက် extension ထပ်လုပ်လို့ရပါသေးတယ်။ စာအုပ်တွေ ရွေးပြီးပြီဆိုရင်တော့ စာအုပ်တွေကို check out point Machine မှာ တအုပ်ချင်းဆီ scan ဖတ်ရမှာ ဖြစ်ပါတယ်။ ဒါဆိုရင်တော့ စာအုပ်တွေဟာ.. ကိုယ့်ရဲ့ account ထဲကို borrow list အနေနဲ့ ရောက်ရှိသွားမှာ ဖြစ်ပါတယ်။
Libray ဟာဆိုရင် နှစ်ခုရှိပြီး၊ central public library ကတော့ basement 1 မှာတည်ရှိပါတယ်။ Lee Kong Chian Library ကတော့ level 7-13 မှာ ရှိပါတယ်။ Drama Center ကတော့ level 3-5 မှာ ရှိပါတယ်။ events & exhibition တွေကိုတော့ highest levels တွေမှာ ပြုလုပ်လေ့ရှိပါတယ်။ Lee Kong Chian စာကြည့်တိုက်မှာဆိုရင်… စာအုပ်ဌားရုံတင်မဟုတ်ပဲ.. စာအုပ်ဖတ်ချင်တာ၊ study လုပ်ချင်တာ၊ နဲ့ topic တခုခုကို research လုပ်ချင်တာမျိုးတွေအတွက်လဲ free access ပေးထားပါတယ်။ အားလုံးပဲ ဇင်ဇင်နဲ့ အတူတူ သွားလည်ကြည့်ရအောင်နော်။
Let's go and borrow books from Singapore's largest library which is located on Victoria Street.
The library is public free access and open from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. But if you want to rent a book, Membership account must be created. Membership is free for all citizens. It will cost about 10$ per year for PRs and 50$ per year for foreigners. Membership can be easily signed up online using SingPass. You can go to the library and make a physical membership. It's not only for this central library and you can visit the nearest libraries under the National library board.
You can borrow books online, and they deliver them to your doorstep with doorstep service.. the shipping fee is about $10. And, you can return it to the bookdrop machines at the nearest library. If there are books you want to read, please make a list down once. When you get to the library, search the system by the name of the book and the system will tell you which counter it is on. If you have trouble finding it, you can ask the library staff. If you want to rent, you can get a maximum of 16 books per rent and it is duration for 21 days. After that, you can do another 21 day extension. If you have selected the books to rent, you have to scan the books one by one at the check out point machine. Then the books will arrive in your account as a borrow list.
Library has many sections such as The central public library is located in basement 1, Lee Kong Chian Library is at level 7-13, Drama Center is at level 3-5 and Events & exhibitions are usually held at the highest levels. At the Lee Kong Chian library is not just borrowing book, it is for those who want to study and for to research a certain topic, free access is provided.
