Singapore’s first scripted collaboration with Japan’s NHK has begun its production 🇸🇬🇯🇵

Mocha Chai Lab (MCL) and (EOA) join forces with Japan’s public media organisation and production house TV Man Union (TVU) to create “Lost and Found”.

“Lost and Found” takes the classic boy meets girl story and adds a twist, as our protagonist, Richie (played by Shawn Thia), teams up with Yuka (played by Anna Yamada) to find his missing online girlfriend, Sakura, in Japan after she has seemingly vanished from the face of the earth.

Supported by through the International Co-production Grant, this 6 episode series is based off true events, where young people who struggle with daily life in modern day Tokyo choose to deliberately disappear and completely vanish (also known as ‘johatsu’).

MCL will be leading the production in Singapore. It’s all hands on deck with Director Chai Yee Wei, Executive Producer Michelle Chang, Assistant Producer Anthony Eu, Post Producer Chia Choong Kai, and MCL’s sound and colour team! 🎬 🙌

Mocha Chai had the honour of hosting the Singapore premiere of “Worth the Wait” at ! 🎬✨

The movie shows the lives of Asian-American strangers fatefully intertwined as they navigate budding love, confront profound loss and encounter old flames.

The Singapore premiere (hosted by MCL’s producer, Anthony Eu) was followed by a live question-and-answer session with the Cast (Ross Butler, Tan Kheng Hua, Lim Yu Beng, Osric Chau), Producers (Rachel Tan, Dan Mark, and Vincent Xie) and Executive Producer (Andrew Ooi).

This movie was definitely “Worth the Wait” for us 😉 Don’t wait any longer though, be sure to check out the movie! In cinemas nationwide this August!

This Year at 부천국제판타스틱영화제 Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival, Mocha Chai Laboratories gave out 2 awards. Congratulations to FUXI from China/HK by Director Qiu JiongJiong and Lovely Ugly Your Friend from Japan by Director Yuka Yasukawa! Can't wait to work on these projects soon!!!
